Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1681

Before the monitor, Sawyer's hand was placed against his lips as he probed further, "What about your biological parents? Have you ever thought of them?"

As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Amelia suddenly furrow her eyebrows, being in contemplation or despise. After a while, she finally spoke, "My biological parents? God... They abandoned me. Why should I worry about them?"

Sawyer subconsciously looked towards Savannah as he heard that, who was standing at the side, only to see her staring at the monitor in a daze. She covered her mouth with one hand, trying her best to suppress her sobs from her throat.

Sawyer thought about it for a moment, then waved his hand to let her leave, in case Amelia accidentally overheard her cry.

Savannah nodded in panic and turned to leave quickly.

"Hey, you asked me so many questions. Should I be able to ask you in return?" Amelia asked.

But Sawyer fell silent.

Amelia was the overnight absurd product of Ryan and Savannah. She was his half- sister. How should he deal with her?

No wonder Abner liked her much from the very beginning, while Ryan was even kind to her. Even Kaiden, who had no interest in women, repeatedly pleaded with him for her sake. He had thought it was fate, not knowing that she originally had a lot to do with the Quartley's.

She was destined to belong to the Quartley's...

Sawyer learned from Savannah that the due date of Ruth and Savannah's birth had been on the same day. They were pushed into the same birth room. Later on, Savannah gave birth to Amelia first and Ruth gave birth to him. Although the time was almost the same, Amelia was an elder sister to him.

Sister?

The word was so strange to Sawyer, who had a weak sense of family affection, that it made him unable to accept.

He did not know whether he should go after Ryan for his one night stand or to share the news with Amelia first.

He only knew that he had really got himself into trouble.

Originally, he wanted to make Amelia show the expression he expected using her family background... be it embarrassing or sad.

But at the moment, he was the one who had a headache instead.

Why had he investigated the trouble maker's background...

Having nowhere to vent his anger, Sawyer glared angrily at Amelia on the monitor. Yet she happened to ask, "Why did you suddenly stop talking? Did you go missing again?"

"I'm not missing." After responding, he regretted it. He wondered why should he answer her?

"Good. May I ask you a few more questions today?" Amelia did not give up any opportunity to collect outside information.

As Sawyer saw that she was supporting her chin with one hand, while appearing to be full of ulterior motives, Sawyer could not help but sneer in his heart.

Appearing to be tricky, she did not look like an elder sister at all. He thought that she was more like a younger sister instead...

Sawyer found that he seemed to have fallen into some strange mood. He actually did not have the idea of getting rid of her soon after knowing Amelia's background. It was completely different from his usual style.

Should it be due to she was still useful to him?

It must be! If he killed the illegitimate daughter right away, there would be nothing he could take to threaten Patrick in the future.

As if having found himself an excuse to let go of Amelia, Sawyer replied, "I'll answer you only after you finish the dinner in front of you."

"Can I eat while I ask?" Amelia was insatiable.

But Sawyer did not refuse, unexpectedly. He just said a little domineeringly, "You can ask, but not about anything related to Patrick, otherwise I won't answer a word!"

"Why?" In the monitor, Amelia appeared to be stunned, "But what I want to know most is about him."

Sawyer was rather exasperated at her unsatisfying respond. "Is he the only one in your life? That you can't live without him?"

They were of the same blood, yet she was most concerned of his enemy. How could that be?

Meanwhile, at the other end of the monitor-

[Why did the person suddenly become so strange to even care about what she had in mind?]

Amelia thought, but she acted to be compromising. "Alright, I won't ask about him. Why don't you tell me where I am now?"

Sawyer was originally satisfied with her cooperation, but he appeared to be distressed again as he heard her new question. "Are you trying to report to Patrick?"

Amelia muttered aggrievedly, "You've thought too much, haven't you? I don't have a phone with me now, while I'm still locked by you with an ankle chain. With you monitoring my movements from time to time, how can I report it to him?"

Following her words, Sawyer subconsciously glanced at her ankle. The thick and heavy chain was a huge contrast to her slender ankle. So he began to wonder if he should change a thinner one for her...

Wait!

Sawyer quickly stopped the ridiculous thought and replied with a blank expression, "We're in America."

"America? The place with the Statue of Liberty?"

Sawyer suddenly interrupted, "If they find out Amelia's true identity, how will they think of you?"

Savannah suddenly froze.

Sawyer stared at her pale face and said word by word, "Not only did you abandon her, you even said to bury her."

Savannah's tears that had just stopped, started to fall again.

"Other than persuading me, why don't you think about how to explain it to her, as well as those who you've mentioned just now." After speaking, Sawyer coldly brushed past her.

Savannah stared blankly at his back with tears falling down like rain.

In the blink of an eye.

It was the thirty- third day of Amelia's imprisonment.

She found that the attitude of the kidnapper was getting stranger recently. In terms of food, the person seemed to have paid more attention to her balance in nutrient. Secondly, in terms of conversation, they could talk freely about anything after prohibiting topic about Patrick and some other sensitive topics. The strangest thing was that the kidnapper had actually called a gynecological doctor to do delivery check-up for her. The doctor told her that the baby was very healthy, but advised her to move around more often.

After dinner that night, Amelia made a joke to the speaker, "If you keep treating me well, I'll have a Stockholm Syndrome."

"Stockholm Syndrome?" Before the monitor, Sawyer was full of interest as he asked, "You mean, you'll develop feelings for me, a kidnapper?"

"If you are handsome enough, maybe I will really change my mind and stand by you." Amelia said wittily.

"Heh." He was not so easily fooled, little fox!

They had talked a lot for days and he deeply felt the slyness hidden under her gentleness.

Hiding her evil intentions, she had constantly coaxed him with nice words like how she had treated Kaiden. While at the moment, she deliberately said some delusional words, as if she had forgotten about Patrick.

"What are you laughing at?" Through the monitor, he saw Amelia puffing her face, as if her sincerity should not be doubted.

"I am happy for you to be submissive. In fact, it's not too late for you to choose again now. If you choose me, you and the child in your belly can not only stay alive but also live better than before." Sawyer suggested ambiguously.

Amelia shrugged her shoulders. "But I don't even know who you are."

The little fox started playing dumb with him again.

After Sawyer gave a cold laugh, he abruptly turned off the voice changer. When he spoke again, it had returned to his original voice through the speaker. "Now you should know."
