Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1717

Jessica immediately enraged as she heard this. She was about to rush over and claw Patrick.

"Mr. Hopper..." Then, a charming voice came from underneath Patrick, which instantly attracted his attention.

Jessica and Wayne, who were also distracted by the voice, suddenly understood why Patrick always cuddled with his wife. It was not because he could not control himself, but who could resist such a voice?

Patrick lowered his head and asked softly, "Amy, you're okay now?"

Amelia nodded with some embarrassment.

Patrick then carried her up to sit.

After Amelia sat still, she quickly tidied up her ruffled hair and clothes. Then, she looked at Jessica and Wayne. Her pretty face was still flushed, which made her look adorable.

"Amelia!" After Jessica rolled her eyes at Patrick, she quickly walked towards Amelia. She inspected Amelia then touched her belly. "Are you okay? Are you both okay?"

"Hmm," Amelia replied. "The baby and I are fine. By the way, why didn't Sierra come with you?"

Jessica replied, "I asked my neighbour to keep an eye on Sierra for the time being, so that I won’t have to take care of her on the way here."

Amelia looked at her in surprise and asked, "Did you hand Sierra over to someone you've just met? Can you rest assured?"

Jessica replied with confidence, "Don't worry. The villagers are simple and honest. Besides, didn't Sawyer get caught? What's there for me and Sierra to worry about now?"

Amelia nodded but soon turned to look at Wayne. When he also nodded to show approval for Jessica's words, Amelia was relieved.

After all, Jessica was inexperienced when compared to Wayne, who was a veteran.

"Please take a seat." When Amelia noticed that they were still standing, she patted the empty spots beside her and invited them.

After that, she straightened up from the sofa to get them a glass of water. But Patrick gently pulled her arm and sat her back.

His alluring voice soon came to her ears, "Let me do it. You can chat with them.”

Did he know what she was planning to do?

Amelia turned around to look at Patrick as her eyes revealed some doubt.

Patrick tucked her hair hanging by her ear and replied slowly, "Don't you just want to get some water? I know how to treat guests."

After that, Amelia smiled. She thought that because Jessica and Patrick were incompatible, and Wayne was his subordinate, Patrick would find it unnecessary to entertain them. It seemed that he was considerate after all.

"Stop caring about him. Let's talk!"

After Jessica made a face at Patrick's back, she loosely hooked Amelia's neck with her arm and said, "You scared the sh*t out of me! I thought we would never see each other again!"

As Jessica went on, her eyes reddened with tears.

Amelia looked at her and chuckled. "Silly girl, why are you crying? I'm back now! By the way, it was raining heavily outside. You didn't get wet, did you?"

Jessica shook her head. "Wayne drove me here. When we got off the car downstairs, he held up an umbrella for me. I didn't get a single drop of rain."

Amelia then turned to look at Wayne. "Wayne, thank you for taking care of Jessica and Sierra for such a long time."

Wayne was casually sitting on the single chair that Alice used before she left. After Wayne heard Amelia, he hurriedly waved at her and said, "No need to thank me. Fortunately, you're back. Otherwise, I would've been driven away by Ms. Albert."

At this, Amelia asked, "What's the matter?" "Oh, don't ask." Jessica pulled Amelia back from Wayne's side, then glared at Wayne. "You can't say it either!"

Wayne raised his eyebrow and said, "Okay, okay. I won't tell her."

Amelia stared at Jessica, then at Wayne. After that, she let out a loud sigh. "Jessica, I've only been away for three months, and you're already keeping secrets from me! I thought we're best friends?"

Jessica was afraid that Amelia would misunderstand, so she explained, "Oh, don't you look at me with those pitiful eyes. Fine! I'll tell you."

"When I found out that Sawyer had kidnapped you, I kept thinking about how long it would take for the Hopper family to rescue you."

"At first, I thought it would only take a few days for you to come back. But as time passed, I found myself too naive."

"When I learned from Wayne that Patrick had sent almost all his subordinates to find you, I was wondering what I could do for you. But..."

Jessica could not do anything.

Amelia could read that from Jessica's dejected expression.

When Amelia saw that Jesicca held no grudge against her, she relaxed and grinned. "Fortunately, I’m not like him. Otherwise, I'll be a menace to society!"

Just then, Patrick came out of the bathroom with two washed cups. Naturally, he saw Wayne getting up from the ground, and the two women laughing on the sofa. Patrick assumed that Wayne was making a joke out of himself to entertain the two, so Patrick did not ask what happened.

Until he heard Jessica ask, "So, the Quartley is your real family?"

At that, Patrick's body, which was bent over the water dispenser, froze slightly. He tried his best to listen and hoped to hear Amelia's answer to see it would be different from what she told Gramps Hopper.

But Patrick worried too much. Amelia's answer was almost the same, "In theory, they are. But in reality, I won't be too involved with them."

"Why? Are the Quartleys similar to Sawyer?" If that was the case, Jessica would not agree to let her best friend recognize them as her family.

"It's not like that!" Amelia hurriedly explained about Ryan and the rest, "Sawyer's parents are kind, and they also have a good impression of me"

"But that was back when I wasn't associated with them. However, if I suddenly show up and tell them that I'm their illegitimate daughter, everything will be disrupted."

"I will also lose what I have in an instant. Do you understand what I mean?"

Jessica pondered for a moment. "You mean that because you know the Quartleys well and have a good impression of each other, you don't want to break the peace?”

Amelia nodded.

Jessica then immediately made a hypothesis. "If you and the Quartley family hadn't known each other beforehand, you might acknowledge them as your family or ask them why did they abandon you. Because you would've no fond feelings for them, you wouldn't feel any pressure when you destroy the relationship?"

Amelia nodded again.

"But in this way, they'll never know your existence, won't they?"

After that, Jessica looked at Amelia with sympathy and pity. "Amelia, why do you have to shoulder all the burden? This is unfair!"

Amelia opened her mouth and was about to answer when a long arm appeared in front of her. She looked down the arm and found that Patrick had returned with two glasses of water.

After he passed the cup to Jessica, he answered coldly, "Don't bother Amy with that. Drink your water!"

"Hey!" This time, Jessica was clever. She turned her head and looked at Amelia. "Amelia, please control your husband!"
