At the sound of this, Kaiden's eyes flew wide in surprise as he suspected again that Sawyer had drugged Amelia!
Kaiden did not forget Amelia's prior impatient attitude towards him. Even if she had changed her attitude towards him later on, she still would not have allowed him to hug her or touch his head.
Just as Kaiden was feeling incredulous, Florence held Amelia's hand and said sweetly, "Amelia, you don't have to introduce him to me and Nora. We know him."
Amelia was taken aback. "You two knew each other? I didn't know about that."
"It's like this..." Nora explained, "Ever since you went missing, Mr. Wright had been looking for Owen to learn about your situation. We knew each other since then."
At this, Kaiden lowered his head in embarrassment.
Although Nora made him sound polite, back then, in reality, Kaiden had barged into the Hopper mansion to denounce them.
After Nora's explanation, Amelia could not help but nod. "I see."
Meanwhile, Kaiden, who did not want Amelia to divert her attention, interrupted, "Amelia, are you not feeling well?"
Amelia looked back at him and replied gently, "I had a fever yesterday when I came back, so Mr. Hopper sent me here. My fever has subsided though."
A fever?
Kaiden licked his lips out of anxiety, then he asked worriedly, "Is there anything else? My cousin didn't torture you, did he?"
Amelia answered frankly, "I just had a fullbody checkup today. The results won't come out until tomorrow. But I'm in good spirits, so
I should be fine."
Finally, she added, "Also, your cousin..."
"Of course, your cousin tormented her!" Florence interrupted. "She's not physically harmed, but she must have suffered a lot psychologically!"
"Yes, yes, yes! I know that!" Kaiden could not stop scanning Amelia up and down with his eyes flooded with distress. "My cousin is a b*stard. When I see him again, I'll beat him up for you!"
"That isn't a punishment at all!" Florence scoffed. "Sure enough, he's your cousin. Your punishment isn't vicious at all."
Kaiden then looked at Florence, his eyes blazing with anger. "I'm talking to Amelia. Can you not interrupt all the time?"
"No!" Florence grabbed Amelia's arm and said, "She's my sister- in- law. Do you think she's closer with me or you?"
As expected, Florence was hostile to all men that came close to her except for Patrick.
As a result, Amelia reluctantly whispered to Florence, "Florence, Kaiden came to visit me today, so he's my guest. Don't make fun of him, okay?"
When Florence saw Amelia's bright eyes looking at her with tolerance and doting,
Florence immediately settled down.
After that, Amelia said to Kaiden, "Let's stop standing here and talk in my ward."
Then, as if Kaiden was not there, Patrick reached out and grabbed Amelia's waist. Then, he took her into his arms and said dotingly, "You're back."
Amelia returned a smile and said. "Yes, I ran into Kaiden halfway here, so I invited him to have a sit."
Only then did Patrick shift his gaze to the man beside Amelia.
His glare could be said to be an upgraded version of Florence's. They seemed harmless, but they were sharp.
"You've seen Amy. You should be relieved now, right?"
Kaiden looked at Patrick with envy and said sourly, "A little bit. By the way, where's my cousin?"
Patrick's eyes flashed with an idea. Then, he asked back, "Haven't you contacted him yet?" "Of course! If I could connect to him, why would I ask you?"
"I don't know."
At that reply, Amelia could not help shooting a glance at Patrick.
Meanwhile, Patrick tightened his hold on her waist gently, hinting her not to speak.
Kaiden, who did not notice Patrick's gesture, questioned, "How can you not know when you saved Amelia from him?"
Patrick then answered in a serious tone, "When I went to rescue Amy, she was alone in the villa with some guards. As for Sawyer, I didn't see him."
