When she heard Ryan saying that Sawyer had run away, Ruth was relieved and subconsciously caressed her chest.
Even though she knew that this wasn't right, as a mother, Ruth didn't want Sawyer to be captured. She only wished that he can run away, as long as he could keep his life.
At the same time, Amelia had communicated with Patrick in the hospital. "Mr. Hopper, what did Uncle Quartley say?"
"He said he wanted to see you, but I've dealt with him."
After a short pause, Patrick continued, "Amy, Owen will send a blood sample of Sawyer's tomorrow. By then, the doctor will conduct a DNA test to reveal the truth. Perhaps you don't have to worry about how to face Ryan like now."
At the police station in the evening.
When Sawyer saw Owen appearing outside the prison with a nurse, his expression changed, but he finally returned to calm.
The cell door opened and Owen led the nurse into the cell.
After glancing at Owen, Sawyer's eyes fell on the nurse who looked quite tender.
The nurse was carrying a medical kit and looking at him without blinking. Her gaze was as if she was looking at a frog that was about to be nailed to a dissected platform for research.
Just as Sawyer was guessing the purpose of Owen and the nurse's visit, Owen tilted his head and talked to the nurse, "Go ahead. I'll be right here watching."
The nurse nodded and walked towards Sawyer.
Sawyer's expression had turned severe as he saw this.
Ordinary people would have been freaked out by these gazes, but the nurse walked over without feeling anything. She crouched down in front of Sawyer and slowly placed the medical kit on her shoulder onto the ground.
Sawyer frowned slightly. Just as he was doubting himself, he suddenly noticed that the nurse also wore a police badge on her shoulder. It was obvious that she wasn't an ordinary person.
The next second, the nurse opened the kit's lid revealing the syringes, needles, blood tubes, and other blood drawing instruments inside.
Sawyer knew what was going on soon enough.
He looked up and walked past the nurse who was unpacking the syringe. He looked at Owen and asked, "You want to collect my blood?"
His low voice in the gloomy and cold prison gave people the illusion of a viper's stare.
Owen said faintly, "Yes."
When the nurse had assembled the syringe and needle, Sawyer asked, "What do you want my blood for?"
Owen replied in his poker face, "You don't need to know this."
Sawyer's voice was cold, "But this is my blood, I have the right to know the truth."
Owen raised his brows, "You're wrong. There are no human rights for the criminals."
Sawyer's eyes narrowed. His intuition told him that something was going on, but he couldn't do anything about it.
He wondered if Sissi had spoken to Savannah.
At that moment, the nurse had raised the needle with one hand while reaching to his arm with another hand.
Before she touched him, Sawyer dodged subconsciously.
The nurse grabbed nothing and looked at Owen.
Owen was not mean since Sawyer should get some lessons.
Soon, Owen shook off Sawyer's hand that had been drawn of blood. After straightening up and keeping his gun, he said to the nurse,
"Let's go."
"Yes." The nurse quickly transferred the blood in the syringe into several blood tubes. She picked up the medical kit after closing it and quickly left after Owen.
The cell door was closed.
Sawyer lowered his head to look at his arm. The bleeding hadn't been stopped. He could only use the other hand's fingers to press the bleeding arm. He was distorted with rage.
The next day.
Knock, knock, knock—
Patrick stepped forward and opened the door as he heard the knock on the door.
He saw a doctor standing at the door with a stack of reports in his hand. He politely said to him, "Good morning, Mr. Patrick. Your wife's body examination reports have come out. Would you like to have a look now?"
Then Patrick stretched out his hand and said, "Give them to me." "Okay." After handing over the examination reports to Patrick, the doctor continued with a happy face, "In fact, your wife is very healthy, and the baby boy in her belly..."
“Wait a minute! What did you say?" Patrick raised his eyes suddenly. The doctor was freaked and thought that he had misspoken something. After a while, he said, "I, I said that your wife is very healthy."
Patrick didn't seem to be satisfied, "I've heard it. What else?"
"And, and..." The doctor tried to think hard and said with his mouth trembling, "The young master of your family is also very healthy, so don't worry."
