Amelia suddenly understood after listening to his explanation. "What's the result of your probing?"
Patrick said, "He is indeed in line with what I said just now. He doesn't like to talk and doesn't like to be touched."
Upon hearing this, Amelia smiled, but then she stopped. "Sorry, I misunderstood you just now."
"I know, what I did just now can easily make you think that I'm a hypocrite."
Embarrassed, Amelia lay in his arms and changed the subject in a relaxed way. "Will you blame me for letting you eat so many lettuce that you don't like to eat tonight?"
"You still dare to mention it?" Patrick pretended to be angry and twisted her nose. "I almost threw up in front of that kid."
Amelia wanted to laugh, but dared not.
Patrick lowered his head and bit her lips. "How are you going to compensate me?"
Amelia was very cooperative and said, "Go ahead. As long as you don't go too far, I will listen to you."
"What a coincidence. I just want to go too far." Patrick deliberately whispered in her ear, appearing low and ambiguous.
Amelia's ears were instantly dyed pink.
Just when she thought that Patrick was going to explode, she heard him make a turn and said, "But wait until I get back from gym."
She would rather he was just a beast now.

The next day.
Amelia, who had been sleeping until late morning, received a call from Sierra. According to her, Milton's right arm and left leg were both fractured. Right now, he was at the hospital!
Hearing this, Amelia couldn't care less about her aching waist and back. After getting out of bed, she pulled out a long dress from the wardrobe and rushed into the bathroom to put it on, which covered all the kiss marks on her body in an instant.
After going downstairs and having a simple breakfast, she put on her mask, went out to stop a taxi, and quickly went to the hospital where Milton was.
As soon as she walked to the ward, Amelia's heart immediately tightened.
Milton was laying on the hospital bed, with plasters on his right hand and left leg. There were some bruises on his fair and handsome face.
At the same time, Sierra was sitting at one side, staring at him. Her eyes were swollen beyond recognition. When she raised her eyes and saw her standing at the door, she quickly stood up and invited her in.
"Milton." Amelia did not dare to provoke him, so even her voice was low. "What happened?"
Milton rolled his eyes, but his eyes fell on Sierra. He said in a hoarse voice, "Mom, let me and Amelia talk alone for a while."
After a moment's hesitation.
Seeing this, Amelia guaranteed, "Don't worry, Aunt Sierra. I will call you if there's anything."
Only then did Sierra nod her head and walk out.
Amelia looked at Milton's body up and down. "Is there any other fracture in addition to your right hand and left leg?"
"No more."
Amelia pointed at his face and asked, "Has your face been slapped?"
"When I went to the Home of Smith to confess everything, I was beaten by Hobart,” said Milton.
Amelia nodded and suddenly realized something was wrong. "Where is Maryanne?"
"She..." Milton's eyes hurt, and he seemed to be holding a breath. "She was taken away!"
Amelia guessed, "Is it her brother?"
"That's right!" Milton gritted his teeth and said, "His people found the hotel where Maryanne and I lived, and directly broke in. They wanted to take Maryanne away! I disagreed and fought with them, but..." "You ended up like this." Amelia sighed. " Maryanne isn't hurt, is she?"
"No, they just knocked her out."
Amelia noticed that his hands and feet were injured. To put it bluntly, he was practically a cripple. She could not help but ask, "Do you need me to go to the Home of Smith for you?" Milton's eyes burst out a strong desire!
So Amelia said with pity, "I will."

Home of Smith.
Amelia didn't come here to help Milton get Maryanne back. As a pregnant woman, she couldn't do such a heroic feat.
She just came to know about Maryanne's situation so that she could report to Milton.
After taking off the mask on her face, Amelia reached out and rang the door bell of Home of Smith.
Moments later, the door opened.
When the maid from the Home of Smith saw her, her expression changed. Then, she thought of something else and asked, "Are you looking for Miss?"
Amelia's eyes flashed. "No, I came to find your young master."
"I see... Please wait for a moment. I'll go inform him," said the maid as she closed the door.
Amelia was relieved to see that something was going to happen.
A minute later, the door was opened again. The maid made a gesture of "please" to Amelia and then led the way for her.
What caught her attention was Hobart who was playing the stereo, listening to classical music and drinking champagne with a pleased look on his face.
Amelia asked again, "May I see her?"
Hobart said angrily, "She's not here!"
Amelia asked, "Your men didn't hand her over to you? Aren't you afraid that she would run to Milton again?"
"I'm not afraid! My people will watch..." Hobart wanted nothing more than to slap himself. What was the point of saying all these to her!
"Don't think that you can interfere in my family affairs even though you are Patrick's wife!"
Amelia reminded him, "Have you forgotten that I am still Milton's friend?”
Hobart choked up and said in a strange tone, "People in the outside world always say that you're crazy, but I think you're sharp-tongued."
Amelia accepted his "praise" and replied with respect, "Thank you. Your IQ remains the same as when I first met you. It has never changed."
Hobart suddenly remembered the scenes of her playing with him. He gritted his teeth and said, "You're deliberately making me angry today to stop Maryanne from being together with that guy, aren't you?"
Amelia said solemnly, "No, I'm here to
persuade you."
"No need!" Hobart waved his hand, unwilling to listen.
Amelia said with pity, "I said this as an experienced person. Sometimes, what you said to be good for her is not really for her. If one day, you haven't changed anything except for making her hate you, it will be too sad."
At the end of her words, she straightened up and left after saying "I'm leaving".
When she left, Hobart immediately swept all of the items on the table onto the ground. By his ears were the classical music, but it made him incredibly irritable. "It's so noisy! Hurry and turn it off!"
The maid nearby shivered in fear and turned off the sound system.

As soon as Amelia left the Home of Smith, she put on her mask, took a taxi back to Milton's side.
When she saw Sierra standing at the door of the ward, Amelia walked up to her worriedly and asked, "Aunt Sierra, why are you standing outside?"
After Sierra was surprised by the return of Amelia, she said, "Milton suddenly said that he wanted to go to the toilet, so he asked me to go out."
Amelia frowned. "Can he do it alone?"
"He has a caretaker in there to help him. He's a man," Sierra said with a sigh. "I wonder what the kid is stubborn."
Amelia comforted her. "After all, he is an adult. It's normal for him to be shy."
"Okay," Sierra answered. All of a sudden, Milton was pushed out of the bathroom on a wheelchair by a male nurse from the bathroom. She immediately grabbed Amelia's hand, pushed the door open and went in.
