Come To Me (Amelia and Patrick) novel Chapter 1873

At last, Sierra looked at Maryanne and said, "I think you'd better come out."

Hearing that, Maryanne was like a child who had made a mistake. She was completely at a loss. "Aunt Sierra... I..."

"Don't get me wrong. I'm not chasing you away." Even though her son had fallen because of the woman in front of her, Sierra did not look like she was about to explode. She just pointed out lightly, "I was wrong just now. Milton would not reject you to bathe him, but he's still young. If you're here, he'll only run into problems."

"But..." Maryanne wanted to say something, but Milton said, "Maryanne, just listen to mom. If you're here, it's easy for me to get into trouble."

Seeing that he had spoken so bluntly, Maryanne could only agree. "Alright, I'll wait for you outside."

Milton then asked Sierra, "Mom, Maryanne was scared just now. Please accompany her."

Sierra frowned. "What are you going to do without us?"

Maryanne said anxiously, "Yeah, don't be shy in such a situation. Let Aunt Sierra help you!"

Milton thought for a moment and said, "I remember when I came back at noon, I met our neighbor's son. Mom, why don't you knock on the door now and ask him to come and help me?"

Upon hearing these words, Sierra nodded her head. "Alright."

Then, she glanced at Maryanne and said, "Come out with me."

"Okay..." Maryanne was like an obedient daughter-in-law. She followed behind Sierra obediently and left the room.

After they left, Milton could no longer pretend to be calm and put his hand on his forehead, thinking that he had lost all his pride.

"I hope Maryanne and my mom won't joke about this in the future."

On the other side, Maryanne, who had been following Sierra all the way to the kitchen, looked at Sierra in a daze. Sierra was holding a bag filled with fruits. Moments later, she asked, "Aunt Sierra, what are you doing?”

"Ill need to offer something to the person whom we're going to ask for help, right?"

"Oh... yes, this is what we should do," Maryanne recalled that when those people needed her brother's help, they also came over with a lot of things. They did it to flatter him.

"I'm going over, you..." When she turned around, she saw Maryanne's soaked clothes.

Thinking of her son's "reaction", she seemed to understand. "Your body is wet. If you don't mind, go to my room and change into clean clothes."

"It doesn't matter, Aunt Sierra. I'm not cold at all." Maryanne was in a hurry to show her sensible side, but she forgot that if the son of Milton's neighbor came over and bumped into her, both of them would be embarrassed to death.

Sierra couldn't help but sigh in her heart. She felt like she had raised another daughter. She always had endless worry.

"I'm going to ask my neighbor's son to help Milton bathe. Are you sure you want to be seen by a guest like this?"

This time, Maryanne understood completely. "I, I am going right now! Sorry, Aunt Sierra, I have no intention of seducing men. Please don't misunderstand!"

After feeling tunned, Sierra suddenly wondered if she had been too harsh on her.

"I know. You've put in a lot of effort for Milton." Maryanne's dazed expression made Sierra's voice soften a little. "I believe that apart from Milton, you won't have any other thoughts about men. So, you don't have to explain these things."

"Aunt Sierra..." Maryanne looked at her with emotion.

"She's my girlfriend," Milton introduced.

"Oh, your girlfriend!" The neighbor's son immediately looked up and greeted Maryanne. "Hello, Milton's girlfriend!" Remembering that when the neighbor's son came in, she was still changing clothes in Aunt Sierra's room, and since it was the first time they had met, Maryanne quickly greeted him.

To be honest, she felt weird to act so politely. She felt that something was amiss.

Seeing Milton's focus was all on his girlfriend after he came out of the bathroom, the neighbor's son cleverly said, "Milton, I'll go back first. If you need my help tomorrow, just call me directly. Don't trouble your mom to come again on purpose."

"Sure." Milton said, "I'll see you off."

"It's alright, it's alright. I'll talk to your mom for a while. Stay with your girlfriend." The neighbor's son smiled at Maryanne and left.

"Maryanne," Milton recognized her clothes and asked, "Are you wearing my mother's clothes?"

"Yes, Aunt Sierra saw that I was drenched, so she asked me to go to her room to change clothes..." Milton suddenly laughed as he spoke. Maryanne asked curiously, "What's wrong? Is there anything wrong?"

Was it because of the clothing? No way, she had picked something that suited her best.

Milton smiled and said, "I was thinking that my mother could have passed you the bathrobe in the bathroom, but she... It seems that she still likes you, Maryanne."

Maryanne jumped happily. "Really? You're not lying to me?!"

Milton said, "I won't joke with you when it comes to such a serious matter and make you happy for nothing."
