Then, Maryanne walked into the bathroom and washed away the makeup on her face before putting on decent makeup again.
When everything was ready, Maryanne opened the door and took the elevator to the hotel's restaurant.
With a "ding", the elevator door opened, revealing the sign of the restaurant.
For some reason, Maryanne had a strong feeling that her brother and Jarvy were already waiting for her inside.
When she walked in, she found that it was true!
Her brother and Jarvy were on both sides, leaving only an empty seat in the middle at the same table.
There were only two of them, but there were three glasses of water on the table. It was obvious that the other glass of water was prepared for her.
At this time, her brother was looking down at the menu, while Jarvy was introducing the dishes to him. The atmosphere between the two men was very harmonious.
Maryanne hated this kind of harmony! This was built on the pain of her and Milton!
Perhaps her resentment was too strong, Hobart suddenly put down the menu and looked in her direction.
When their eyes met, the brother and sister were stunned.
Seeing Hobart stunned, Jarvy couldn't help but look in that direction. He saw Maryanne standing not far away. He couldn't help but exclaim, "Maryanne is here!"
Hobart came back to his senses. He had made many assumptions before coming here, but he did not know how to react when he saw his sister.
Should he treat her harshly? No, if he was too harsh, she would definitely turn around and leave.
She had left without hesitation for the first time, and she would do that again for the second time.
Should he be gentle then? No, she would take advantage of him.
Just as Hobart was silently adjusting the expression on his face, Jarvy had already stood up. He gracefully approached Maryanne and invited her to take a seat.
Maryanne, however, pointed at Hobart with her eyes and asked Jarvy, "What is he doing here?"
Jarvy explained softly, "Hobart is here to see you."
"To see me?" Maryanne tried to find out the truth from Jarvy's mouth, so she deliberately asked, "I think he's looking for trouble, right?"
Jarvy quickly said, "No, Hobart is here to show his concern for you. He wants to see how you're doing."
Maryanne sneered. "I see. He's here to taunt me."
Jarvy said helplessly, "Maryanne, no matter what, Hobart is your elder brother. Don't hold such great hostility against him."
At the end, he asked again, "Why don't you come over with me?"
"I don't want. I want to sit at another table," Maryanne said reluctantly.
"Maryanne, don't be wilful. Just take it as a show of respect to me?" Jarvy said in a tone of coaxing his girlfriend.
However, Maryanne did not give him any face and turned her face away.
Jarvy had already gotten used to her arrogant look, so he still persuaded her in a good voice, "If you don't go over, how do you know what Hobart is going to tell you? You have to communicate to make peace, isn't it?"
Maryanne thought for a moment and nodded reluctantly. "Alright, lead the way."
Hearing this, Jarvy was extremely satisfied. He was proud of being able to control Maryanne's will. He even unconsciously thought that she was obedient.
He didn't know that Maryanne was just trying to sound him out.
And judging from what he just said, her brother didn't come to bother her, but to care about her life.
That was good.
It could prove that the matter of her going to Home of Cook had not been exposed yet.
Maryanne had already followed Jarvy and arrived at Hobart's table.
At the same time, Hobart had already adjusted his mood and expression. He looked calmly at Maryanne.
"Where should I sit?" Maryanne asked Jarvy, even though Hobart was clearly right in front of her.
Hobart's expression turned grim at once. He was still used to Maryanne coming at him and pestering him while calling him "brother".
Jarvy pointed at the spot between Hobart and him and said to Maryanne, "Maryanne, just sit here. Hobart left this seat for you."
His words pointed to the idea of Hobart wanting to sit with his younger sister.
An unnatural glint flashed across Hobart's face. "Jarvy, I never said such a thing."
After Jarvy glanced at him in surprise, he said to Maryanne, "I might have remembered wrongly. Maryanne, do you mind sitting in the middle of us?"
"I don't mind. I'm just afraid someone will mind," Maryanne said meaningfully.
Hobart silently picked up the glass of water and began to drink.
When Jarvy saw the silent contest between the siblings of Home of Smith, he had no choice but to be the middle person, "Don't worry, no one cares. Please take a seat."
After Maryanne was seated, Jarvy naturally started a topic. "Well, I didn't see you here at noon today."
Maryanne nodded. "Yes, that's what I think. It'll never change."
Hobart replied, "You should know that as long as my people keep an eye on you, you won't be able to meet that man. Do you want to spend your entire life apart from him?"
Maryanne sneered in her heart. She had sneaked out to look for Milton many times, but not a single one of her brother's stupid subordinates had noticed her.
"The distance between us doesn't matter. He lives in here."
As Maryanne spoke, she pressed her hand on her chest. Her solemn expression made the two men speechless for a moment.
What followed was a burning rage.
Hobart picked up the glass from the table and took a few violent gulps to calm himself down.
Jarvy was no better than him, but his endurance was slightly stronger, so he said as if nothing had happened, "Hobart, Maryanne, we have been here for a while. Let's see what to order."
Maryanne said familiarly, "I want a plate of Aglio Olio spaghetti. The rest is up to you."
"Sounds good. I'll order this too." Jarvy then asked Hobart, "Hobart, what about you?"
Hobart answered, "Whatever."
Jarvy asked, "Then can we all order the same food?"
Hobart said, "Yes."
Jarvy said to the passing waiter. Before long, three plates of Aglio Olio spaghetti were served.
Unlike the two men with worries, Maryanne ate happily.
Hobart took a deep look at her. Seeing that she had no intention of entertaining him, he could not help but feel depressed.
When Jarvy saw this, he quickly said, "Hobart, have a taste. It's not bad."
Hobart replied with a "hmm" before he ate his food.
Seeing that Maryanne's plate of Aglio Olio spaghetti was disappearing at a speed visible to the naked eye, Hobart subconsciously ordered, "Follow me back after you've finished eating."
Maryanne licked the sauce stuck to her lips, raised her head, and said, "I won't go back unless you promise to let me be with Milton.''
Hobart's fingers, which were holding onto the fork, tightened. "Don't you even want your father and mother?"
Maryanne's eyes darkened. "Forgive me for not being filial."
Hobart let out a sorrowful laugh. "They really raised you for nothing."
