Ellison twisted twice in discomfort but failed to stay away. He could not help but pout and weep again.
Patrick quickly adjusted his facial expression and showed a kind smile.
But this couldn't relieve Ellison's discomfort. The little fellow didn't care how powerful his father was. He cried directly, which was louder than it was when he was being held by anyone else.
Amelia immediately tugged at Patrick's sleeve, asking him to hand over their son to her.
"Wait a minute, Amy." Patrick was not convinced, so he did not rush to let go.
He remembered that he had carried Andrew and Ashley in the same way. At that time, they were just like Ellison, born not long ago. Why was their reaction not as bad as Ellison's?
The group of people listened to Ellison's cry and they felt distressed and funny looking at Patrick, whose face was dark.
Patrick's eyes met with his baby's. He said softly, "Don't cry. I'm your father."
The little boy cried and ignored him.
Maybe he didn't hear it clearly and Patrick had to say it again.
Patrick thought as he raised his voice and repeated, "Don't cry, I'm your father!"
The little fellow could not help but choke.
Just when everyone thought that Patrick had conquered him, the little fellow once again whimpered. It seemed that he would cry nonstop.
Granny Hopper slapped him and said, "Why don't you give Cicily back to his mother? Do you want him to cry until his throat is sore?"
Gramps Hopper opened his mouth and wanted to say that it would not happen. Now the most important task was to correct Ellish's bad habit of being afraid of strangers. After all, when he was going to carry the child just now, he was depressed by his crying face.
But seeing his wife's protective posture, Gramps Hopper chose to be silent.
"Patrick, Cicily may be hungry. He hasn't eaten milk since he was born. Amelia has slept for a few hours. How about you give Cicily to Amelia first? When he is full, he probably won't cry."
Alice's words indirectly gave Patrick a way out. Otherwise, he might really fight with his son to the end.
After Patrick nodded, he returned Ellison to the worried Amelia.
In fact, if it weren't for the fact that Patrick was the child's father, Amelia would have grabbed him from Patrick long ago.
As soon as he returned to his mother's warm and soft embrace, Ellison immediately smacked his lips and stopped crying.
The others looked at each other and thought, "This is really weird."
As a matter of fact, Ellison just felt uncomfortable with his father's hard muscles.
Amelia wiped the tears from the little guy's face with her finger and said to everyone, "Alice's words reminded me. Can I feed Cicily now?"
"Of course, let's go out." Granny Hopper immediately wanted to chase everyone out.
At this moment, Nora said, "Grandma, Amelia has just become a mother for the first time. She might not understand some of the tactics, so why don't I stay and guide her?"
Alice couldn't help but glance at Nora. The two families had limited interactions, so she was a little surprised at Nora's enthusiasm.
"Alright, Nora, stay. The rest of you, follow me," Granny Hopper said. When she saw that Patrick was still at his original spot, she couldn't help but pat him.
"Grandma?" Patrick looked at her subconsciously.
"Didn't you hear what I said? Except for Nora, everyone else has to leave with me."
"Me?" Patrick pointed at himself. "Why should I leave?"
Nora smiled and asked, "It's amazing, right?"
"Yes." Amelia said, "I didn't expect that Cicily would be so obedient. He didn't put me in a difficult position at all."
"That's because of you!"
Nora held back and said, "Cicily doesn't have any teeth yet. You have to be careful when he grows teeth in the future. He might bite you."
"I don't mind." Amelia exuded strong maternal love from every part of her body.
Moments later...
Ellison was full and even burped gently.
After Amelia finished dressing, she said to Nora, "Sister-in-law, please open the door and invite grandpa and the others in."
"Okay." Nora left.
As soon as Nora opened the door, she saw Granny Hopper speaking to Patrick, "Let me remind you, Amelia is not only yours now."
"She's also Cicily's. In the future, you have to pay more attention to your actions. Don't stick to Amelia all day. You are already a father now.
You have to relax a bit, help Amelia take care of Cicily. Do you hear me?"
Patrick listened to her instructions and said, "Yes, grandma. I got it."
"By the way, you must not do anything with Amelia after she gave birth to a baby. For the sake of her safety, you'd better sleep separately from her," Granny Hopper said again.
This time, Patrick was unhappy. Why! He had spent a long time waiting for his wife to give birth to a child, and he had to sleep in a separate room from her now?
