Chapter 718
Tyler would be the one suffering if this deal fell through!
Anne gave Rachel a small smile.
“I won’t. I know him, he was just joking. Please don’t mind it, Ms. Lloyd. But I’m still very interested in the proposal. I was just wondering if I could have a drink or two with you, Mr. Hunt. We could dive deeper
into the details there.”
“I might not be able to-”
“Sure, Ms. Charlton. It’s quiet in the bar, very conducive to our discussions. It is rather hot here in the afternoon, and quite distracting for us to be talking about work. Don’t worry, I’ll go look for a bar nearby with a good environment for you two. Leave the arrangements to me.”
Anne looked at Tyler and Rachel, clearly overjoyed. “Really? Can we do that?”
“No-”
“Of course, we can! Ms. Charlton, leave this to me.”
Anne gave Rachel a knowing look. “Thank you in advance, Ms. Lloyd.”
“No problem. I’ll take care of this,” Rachel said as she patted her chest confidently.
Tyler sat right there, his face dark with displeasure. All of a sudden, he lost all of his appetite.
Anne enthusiastically spooned some food onto Rachel’s plate. “Here, Ms. Lloyd, try some crab. I heard that this restaurant is well–known for this dish.”
“Thank you, Ms. Charlton.” Rachel nodded in appreciation at the food.
Yet, Anne noticed that Rachel didn’t touch the crab on her plate. She probed, “Ms Lloyd, why aren’t you eating? Trust me, the crab here is superb.”
Rachel didn’t want to disappoint Anne’s kind intentions. She could tell that Anne really liked Tyler, and no woman would like to be embarrassed or get rejected in front of a man they fancy.
Rachel picked up her spoon to give it a try. One mouth wouldn’t hurt, she surmised.
Suddenly, Tyler reached out to press her spoon down. Rachel turned to look at him, her eyes asking him
what he was doing.
Tyler said seriously to Anne, “She’s allergic to crab and shellfish.”
The smile on Anne’s face stiffened. “Oh, I see. I was wondering why Ms. Lloyd wasn’t eating. It’s fine, you could have told me straight that you’re allergic to seafood, Ms. Lloyd.”
