Chapter 763
Tyler glanced at the mayor, then asked Yale, “Are you sure that’s the case?”
“Yes, I’m sure about it,” Yale replied.
“Got it. Make the necessary arrangements and make haste.”
With Yale’s brief and succinct report, Tyler knew what was going on.
“Yes, sir.”
Yale walked out with his phone in his hand. The next thing he had to do was easy enough. All that was needed was a phone call–he didn’t even need to make a trip elsewhere.
Jeremy looked at Sawyer, his aura imposing.
“What’s going on?”
The moment Sawyer saw Jeremy, he burst into tears and started whining like a disgruntled housewife.
“Jeremy, they bullied me! I was having fun with my friends at the beach when these two women came up to us, asking us if we were interested in them.
“We’re young men in the prime of our youth, so of course we have desires of that sort. They were the ones who suggested doing it on the beach, but they ended up accusing us! How were we in the wrong? Her friend then came over and beat us up. Look at the bruises he left on my face!”
Anger burned in Jeremy’s chest when he saw the bruises on Sawyer’s face.
“Do you people have any regard for the law? Seducing a man and trying to accuse him of sexual assault? Well, you’re barking up the wrong tree!”
Jeremy was speaking to Rachel and Anne and didn’t notice Tyler seated on a chair. He looked worlds apart from the two women, anyway.
Anne didn’t dare to say a word as she hid behind Rachel.
Rachel fearlessly started trying to talk sense to Jeremy.
“If you’re here to talk reason and show proof, we can talk things through and won’t slander this monster. But if you’re trying to use your power and position to oppress others and stand up for the wicked, we have nothing more to talk about today. Things go viral so easily online. If word that a person of power chose to cover up his family and suppress the truth spreads, do you think you’ll be able to hold onto your position?”
Jeremy scoffed, not caring much about Rachel’s threat.
“Young lady, do you think I’ve never been threatened in my whole life? People are really getting ridiculous nowadays, trying to hold other people accountable for their own faults.”
Jeremy sauntered toward a chair and sat on it with an air of relaxed calm. An officer immediately shot his subordinate a look. Very soon, he came back with a tea tray.
