Countdown to My Divorce (Rachel and William) novel Chapter 793

Chapter 793

When Tyler heard Rachel, he smiled. He touched his lips, fighting back laughter as he looked at her.

What’s this, Rachel? I’ve never seen you so unsure of yourself.

Rachel shook her head, not knowing how to put her feelings into words.

That’s not what I mean. It’s not insecurity. You just don’t get it. It’s more of being surprised, you know? I never imagined you and I would end up like this. Not once did I picture it. You know what I mean?

Being with Tyler already felt surreal, but realizing he had secretly been in love with her all along was even more shocking. It was like watching a notorious player suddenly flip into the role of a hopeless romantic.

Tyler’s warm fingertips brushed against her cheek.

You’re incredible, Rachel. I like you for my own reasons. You don’t have to do a thing. Just keep being yourself.

Rachel couldn’t stop herself from smiling.

Just then, Yale knocked on the door.

Tyler released Rachel and brought a fist to his lips before clearing his throat.

What is it?

News just came in. Your aunt has calmed down and promised not to act on impulse again. As for Ms. Charlton, she was a victim in all of this. She didn’t know the full extent of Ms. Lyonsplan. Looks like she’ll just be deported in the end.

That didn’t surprise Tyler. Anne had changed her residency long ago, so unless something major happened, the authorities wouldn’t keep her here.

What about Sheryn?

Mrs. Wilma hired the best lawyer she could find. Plus, Ms. Lyons never told Sawyer to kill Ms. Lloyd. Sawyer acted on his own, and when Ms. Lloyd got hurt, the bigger responsibility fell on him. Ms. Lyons shouldn’t get too heavy a sentence.

I see. Once Sheryn’s released, make arrangements for her and her mother to leave the country. I’ll cover the costs, but I want one condition met first.

Tyler had been waiting for this moment all along.

Yale looked up. What condition?

Talk to my aunt. If Sheryn is willing to change her testimony and give proof that Howard bribed her to lie, I’ll make sure they get out safely. Howard wouldn’t go after them abroad, anyway.

Yale’s eyes lit up with excitement: That’s perfect! If that works, we can finally clear Ms. Lloyd’s name.

Get it done.

Yes, sir.

Yale had always thought Tyler had resigned himself in Howard’s case. Without Sheryn’s changed testimony, they had no stronger evidence. He figured the matter would just die down.

But now, it seemed that Tyler had been planning this all along. He had just been waiting for the right time to act.
