Chapter 827
William said nothing further, and Samantha finally felt relieved.
She had to find a way to cling to William so he wouldn’t ask her for a divorce again at such a critical juncture. If they divorced, she’d be left with nothing!
It wasn’t a good thing that William was infertile while Rachel and Tyler’s relationship became stronger with each passing day.
Tyler couldn’t be bothered by the two of them. He didn’t care about the Lewis family’s assets at all.
Rachel told him to take care of his father and that she was fully capable of handling things at her
father’s funeral.
Half an hour later, the doctor came by with Thomas‘ medical report.
“Family members of Mr. Lewis, let me explain things to you. I have his medical report, and he’s generally fine. The growth is benign, and we can just remove the tumor through surgery.”
Everyone heaved a sigh of relief.
Then the doctor added, “However, because the patient is too advanced in years and his mood hasn’t been good as of late, his organs are starting to fail. You’ll have to mentally prepare yourselves for what’s coming.”
Tyler and William frowned.
William was the first to raise a question. “What…what do you mean his organs are starting to fail? Didn’t you say that the tumor is benign?”
“The tumor is benign, but you know that Mr. Lewis is old. It’s only natural that his body is breaking down. No one can stop that from happening.”
“Can he be treated?” William followed up with another question.
The doctor shook his head. “Getting old and falling sick is part of life. It’s not something we can stop. You should understand what I mean by that.”
William nodded. “I understand.”
The doctor went on, “Don’t think so much. After he gets discharged, let him do what he pleases and spend more time with him. You can even take him overseas for a holiday.”
Tyler stood up and said flatly, “Alright, we got it. Thank you, doctor.”
After the doctor left them, William slumped against the wall. He clenched his fists and punched the

wall.
“It’s all my fault for neglecting Grandpa’s health. I’ve always thought that he was fine.”
Samantha approached him and said comfortingly, “William, don’t blame yourself for everything. What does this have to do with you, anyway? The doctor made it clear that it’s all part of aging. You should be thankful that it’s not lung cancer, or he’ll have to suffer the pain of the disease.”
Just then, Thomas‘ eyes opened slowly. His weak and frail appearance lessened his usual severe and
stern aura.
“What…what are you two arguing about?”
William hurried over to Thomas‘ side when he heard him speak. “Grandpa, how do you feel right now? Do you feel unwell anywhere? Let me call the doctor over.”
