Intense pain spread down Rachel’s back, accompanied by a searing numbness. The pain was akin to a red–hot metal rod against her skin, the burn spreading all the way to her bones. Blood drained from her face, and even her lips turned pale. Beads of sweat trickled down from her temple.

Tyler tried to check Rachel’s wound, but his hands were bound and he couldn’t move them.

He yelled anxiously, “Rachel…!”

Rachel looked up slowly and said weakly, “I’m fine. Don’t…don’t worry about me.”

Howard looked up and guffawed, his wild laughter ringing in the warehouse.

“Wow, you really love Tyler to death! I really want to know, would you do the same thing for William? If I remember it correctly, you loved him to death too, right?”

Rachel looked disdainfully at Howard, her eyes filled with disgust. “Scram!”

Howard’s face twisted with anger as he pinched Rachel’s chin hard.

“Do you really think you two can escape from my hands? I made a mistake last time, and it was challenging for me to lay a finger on you two at home. But get this straight. We’re on foreign land right now. The police here won’t give a damn. Even if I kill you two right here, nothing will happen to

me.”

“Howard, come at me if you’re a man. I’ll only see you as an animal if you dare lay a finger on a woman,” Tyler said indifferently, as though he wasn’t Howard’s target.

Tyler was still bound, but he still exuded the aura of the one in charge as he continued provoking

Howard.

“Hurry up and make or move, or I might think you’ve fallen in love with me and can’t bear to attack

me.”

Howard tightened his grip on the baseball bat, filled with a strong urge to split Tyler’s head apart to

see what was inside.

A few seconds later, Howard smirked wickedly.

“Compared to granting you two a quick release, I prefer tormenting you until you wish you were dead.”

He looked at Rachel, who was gasping in pain. A wicked smile stretched across his face.

“Still remember what we didn’t manage to complete the last time? Let’s get on with it again…”
