Countdown to My Divorce (Rachel and William) novel Chapter 870

Chapter 870

Seeing William running away, Thomas shook his head.

He’s already old, but still so immature. He doesn’t even know what he wants and the kind of wornan he wants to lead the rest of his life with.

With a wave of his hand, he changed the subject.

You’d better spend some time thinking about what I brought up. You’re not getting any younger. It’s about time to settle your marriage.

Tyler pursed his lips. II don’t know if she’ll say yes.

Seeing Tyler nervous was a rare sight. Thomas seized the chance to tease him.

Seems like Rachel really is here to torture both you and William. I know you always give your best at work and find any way to accomplish the task, no matter how complicated or challenging it seems. But that uncertainty on your face when you talk about a woman surprised me.

What Thomas didn’t know was that Tyler hadn’t fallen in love with Rachel recently. He had loved her right from the startshe was the only woman in his heart.

It had never changed. He treasured the time he had with her right now, because the chance to be with

her was so hard to come by.

Tyler smiled wordlessly.

Mr. Lewis.

A crisp voice of a lady sounded at the door.

Tyler’s attention was drawn to the door. He turned and saw that it was Rachel.

He hurriedly approached her, surprised by her appearance.

Why did you come? Is everything settled on Cecilia’s end?

Tyler held Rachel’s hand in his.

Rachel looked at him.

Yes, it’s all settled. Dr. Elias told me that her condition isn’t as good as we thought it was. She hid her condition from us after finding out, and it shows signs of deterioration. He said he’d discuss things with the doctors here and see if they can come up with a better treatment plan.

Tears welled up in Rachel’s eyes as she spoke. She covered her mouth and looked away, trying hard to keep her emotions in check.

Tyler parted Rachel’s shoulders comfortingly.

It’s alright. You’re so close to Cecilia, it’s completely understandable that you feel bad seeing her like this.

Rachel took a deep breath, knowing that it was inappropriate for her to be so sad before Thomas. He was in poor health; any mention of Cecilia and her condition might affect his mood, too.
