Chapter 912
Whatever it was, both Jerry and Rachel heaved a sigh of relief now that the crisis had been averted.
“I’m relieved to hear that, Rachel. This calls for a celebration!”

“Sure, I’ll treat you to a meal next time,” Rachel said with a smile. “But Jerry, I really must thank you for pleading on my behalf under such stressful conditions.”
She understood Hannah too well. Hannah was strong–willed both at work and in life, often unforgiving with her words.
Jerry was very straightforward and had his pride. It wasn’t a stretch to conclude that he probably suffered in Hannah’s hands.
“Rachel, don’t say that. I would have been in jail if it weren’t for you. It’s only right for me to return the favor.”
“Alright, let’s not harp on the past anymore. I’ve got something else to go to, text you again.”
“Sure, go ahead.”
By the time Rachel hung up, Tyler had driven over to her.
Before Rachel could hop into the car, Tyler got off and made his way to the front passenger seat to open the door for Rachel. He put his hand protectively above her head and waited for her to settle down before shutting the
door.
Only then did he open the door to the driver’s seat, settle down and start the engine.
“There’s no need for you to do that. I’m pregnant, not carrying a treasure. Others might wonder why you’re behaving so cautiously,” Rachel said with a smile.
“It’s fine. Better be safe than sorry. You’re no different from a treasure right now, really.”
Rachel buckled her seat belt. “Let’s head to the hospital.”
The mention of the hospital made Tyler tense up.
“Do you feel unwell?”
Seeing the concern on Tyler’s face, Rachel patted his cheek gently.
“Tyler, can you quit being so antsy? You’re making me anxious, too. I’m only one month pregnant and you’re behaving this way. We have so many more months to go. Are you really going to live like this?”
Tyler grabbed her hand, his tense shoulders relaxing.
“Okay, I won’t be anxious. Answer me, do you feel unwell? Why do you want to go to the hospital?”
Rachel suppressed the urge to laugh. “Did you forget who’s still in the hospital? Your father did us such a huge favor. Shouldn’t we pay him a visit and thank him in person?”
Tyler scoffed. “Apologies. I forgot.”

Rachel launched the navigation app on her phone. “I saw a shopping mall up ahead. Why don’t we check it out and get something for him?”
“You decide,”
Tyler started the engine and drove in the direction Rachel led him in.
They walked around the shopping mall. Rachel picked out some gifts for Thomas, as well as some things for Cecilia to spruce up her empty ward.
