Chapter 930
The look in William’s eyes changed visibly when he was introducing Rachel.
Tyler looked hard at him. “What’s wrong, William? Why are you hesitating to introduce your aunt?”
“This is my aunt, Rachel Lloyd.”
Winnie knew nothing about William’s divorce. In fact, she knew nothing about him except that he came from a wealthy and powerful family.
After the last time, when William chased her away from the bar, they hadn’t contacted each other for a long time. Winnie liked him, but she knew her place.
Coincidentally, she bumped into a drunk customer who was pestering her when she knocked off last night.
It was a customer she couldn’t afford to offend, and even her manager couldn’t persuade him to stop. She had just wanted to drink the wine he was forcing upon her in hopes that he would quit pestering her. He ended up pushing his luck and wanted to take her away.
That was when they bumped into William.
Winnie didn’t dare to imagine what would happen to her if she hadn’t been lucky enough to bump into William.
To her surprise, when William brought her home, he asked her to be his girlfriend.
Winnie couldn’t believe it. She thought he was drunk and pulling her leg.
It was only after she kept asking him about it that she realized that William was being absolutely serious. Her heart belonged to him, and she naturally said yes to his question.
After that, he brought her here.
Winnie looked exceptionally obedient as she said softly, “Hello, Aunt Rachel.”
Rachel nodded politely. “Hello. Please have a seat. There are many snacks here. See if you like any of them.”
Winnie felt rather uncomfortable, but she looked innocent and didn’t seem to have any tricks up her sleeves.
Rachel had a good first impression of Winnie, although she resembled Samantha’s style.
However, Samantha was still different from Winnie. From the very first time Rachel saw Samantha, she knew that Samantha was scheming by nature and that her gentle meekness was just a facade. She could sense strong and haughty ambition in Samantha’s eyes.
Hence, Rachel didn’t like Samantha right from the beginning.
Winnie was different, though. Her eyes were crystal clear, and Rachel could tell that she had just graduated from school. She started to worry that William was just looking for something fresh and novel, and might end up hurting Winnie.
Winnie sat down and snuck a couple of glances Rachel’s way. She gripped the hem of her dress tight. No wonder William kept saying they looked alike.
