Cross My Tigress Face the Wrath (Stella) novel Chapter 812

“Now, do you still think Susanna’s safe with Derek?”

Yvonne just stared, speechless.

Derek never loved their mother, and he certainly didn’t care for any child who wasn’t born to that woman. That homewrecker clearly meant the world to him.

“And right now, Susanna is Derek’s best pawn to keep Lacey under control.”

Yvonne felt her chest tighten again.

Oh God…

Was there even a chance she could get Susanna out safely, and actually deliver her to Hull like she promised?

Yvonne had never been this rattled before. But now, she was genuinely starting to panic.

“Jesus, can family drama get any messier than this?”

She scratched her head in frustration.

The Quinn family was a model of simplicity compared to this circus. Yvonne had never had to deal with these kinds of twisted loyalties.

Xander chimed in, “Hull’s people are here too. We need to move faster.”

Yvonne’s heart dropped. “Wait, Hull’s guys are here already?”

She shot Chloe a look. Chloe’s face said it all—she was just as freaked out.

If Hull’s people had shown up, that could only mean one thing: Susanna hadn’t been taken by Hull after all.

Xander just nodded.

Yvonne let out a groan. “Well, what are we waiting for? Someone needs to find out if Susanna’s cousin really did take her.”

What a tangled mess. Brothers who aren’t really brothers. Fathers who don’t act like fathers.

What kind of hell-level family tree was this? Yvonne couldn’t help but feel a pang of pity.

“I don’t care who the hell took her—if Black Gate wants a fight, I’ll make sure it’s a real storm.”

Yvonne was seething.

Snatching someone right out from under her nose? Absolutely not.

And that attitude? It meant she was dead set on getting mixed up in Black Gate’s business.

Carroll said, “Nobody knows for sure. But she’s basically calling out the whole of Black Gate to give up the girl.”

“And if she doesn’t get what she wants, it’s going to be a damn mess,” Dan replied, scowling.

Black Gate was already a boiling pot of chaos.

But at least, up to now, it was an internal problem. If Yvonne started meddling, there was no telling how many outside players would leap into the fray.

And knowing that Xander already had people lurking nearby just made Dan’s headache worse.

Carroll said, “Honestly, what I’m worried about is Hull’s involvement.”

“Yvonne’s convinced Susanna’s here with Black Gate. That means Mr. Miguel from Hull is definitely going to—”

Dan cut him off, “Enough. Don’t say it.”

Hull’s involvement was the last thing he needed. Hull wasn’t just Mr. Quinn’s right-hand man—he had his own power base, and that was a force no one should underestimate.
