Ariel considered briefly how she should phrase her words. Since things had come to this, perhaps it was time to let go of everything that had been holding her back and finally tell Jayson the truth.
The truth about her cancer.
The truth about what had actually happened that led to the abortion before Jayson returned to Croinia.
Ariel suddenly felt she should clear the air and be completely honest with him, especially since they would soon be divorced.
She was even more inclined to do so when she thought about how Jayson had secretly brought Isaac back to help with Leonard's treatment and how he had quietly supported her while she worked on the U.N2 project.
Maybe they should have an honest, heart-to-heart conversation for once. Then, they could part ways without any lingering regrets or resentment.
"What is it that you want to say?" Jayson asked, sensing something heavy on her mind.
Ariel began, "I want to tell you that—"
A sudden screech cut her off. Arthur jerked the steering wheel, and the car skidded sideways before he slammed on the brakes.
The force of momentum threw Ariel against the side, but Jayson caught her from behind. Frowning, he glanced sharply out the window.
Arthur looked over his shoulder apologetically. "Mr. Larkin, a car sped toward us just now. I had to swerve to avoid it. Are you both alright?"
Jayson spotted the car speeding away. A cold light flickered in his eyes. "I'm fine."
A small frown creased Ariel's forehead as she rubbed her neck, having apparently pulled a muscle. "I'm okay," she said.
But her pain was evident to Jayson, whose frown deepened in concern. "Let's head back first," he responded.
His gaze lingered in the direction the car had gone, his eyes unreadable. It was clear this wasn't just a simple accident.
It was around noon when they arrived at Larkin Manor.
Jayson helped Ariel out of the car. "Let's get you a cold compress."
She nodded faintly, still wincing.
As soon as they entered the house, they found Shane sitting in a corner with a book in hand.
He looked up at the sound of their footsteps and smiled warmly. "You're back early today."
Jayson shot him a cold glance. "Were you expecting me to be buried in work today?"

Nice and amazing story with gripping turns, but can you give more chapters? And please we need more romance as readers, it has been dragging on a lot, maybe romance, happy ending and end it soon....
