Jayson's fingers tensed slightly. He had a good guess at what Ariel was about to say.
She turned to the side. Her expression was calm as she said, "If the surgery goes well, if they can remove all the tumor and cancer cells and leave me intact, of course I'd be thrilled. But the truth is, no one can guarantee that."
Her condition had already progressed significantly, and the forced procedure after her earlier miscarriage clearly dealt her a second blow.
"Jayson, you really don't need to waste time—"
"I've reached out to experts from overseas for a joint consultation. They'll come up with the best possible plan."
Jayson turned to grab an orange and began peeling it. He never looked at Ariel, just carefully stripping the pith from each segment. On closer inspection, though, his fingertips were trembling ever so slightly.
He cut her off before she could continue.
Ariel stared at him.
She didn't want to give him false hope. She wasn't even sure what the outcome would be. No matter how she thought about it, things were grim.
Under normal circumstances, the best-case scenario would be a successful surgery, followed by regular checkups to prevent recurrence, without affecting her daily life or any of her body functions.
The other possibility was a failed surgery, which could lead to complications and a significantly shortened life expectancy—potentially just two to five years.
Or Ariel could choose to remove her entire uterus, ending any chance of having children.
She knew Jayson couldn't bear any outcome but the best. She was just looking at things realistically, since Jayson wasn't willing to consider any of this at the time.

Nice and amazing story with gripping turns, but can you give more chapters? And please we need more romance as readers, it has been dragging on a lot, maybe romance, happy ending and end it soon....
