Stanley understood immediately. This was Jayson offering him a way out.

After such a hardline stance, this was a rare concession.

Even so, Stanley felt unbearably heavy-hearted. Not because of Jayson's threat, but because of how deeply it pained him to see Cecilia end up like this.

"Well, then. I won't take up more of your time." Jayson didn't bother staying for pleasantries.

As Samson watched him go, his gaze turned dark and unreadable.

Who would have thought that the same Jayson who had just been so ruthless could appear this polite now?

It seemed like things had been settled, as if neither side had anything left to worry about.

But Yeager Group had become collateral damage. It had taken a heavy hit because of this mess.

Samson followed Jayson out the door. Just before Jayson got into the car, Samson shot him a cold look. "You claim to be standing up for Ariel, yet you couldn't resist using this chance to strike at Yeager Group. Jayson, you're as ruthless as they come."

At this point, Yeager Group's troubles weren't something that could be resolved overnight. The chain reaction was too severe to simply explain away.

Jayson had used this chance to get back at Samson for trying to undermine his government materials project last time. He struck back with no mercy.

Meanwhile, Jayson's materials company was sure to gain favor from the government, and both Faye Technologies and Nexura Solutions would benefit from the shake-up.

Jayson turned around, his expression indifferent. "I told you before, you've still got a lot to learn."

With that, he got in the car.

Leaning back in his seat, he pinched the bridge of his nose with his eyes closed.

A dull ache throbbed behind his temples, probably from exhaustion and pent-up stress over the past few days. He wasn't feeling well.

Arthur glanced at him from the driver's seat. "Mr. Larkin, are you okay?"
