Martin was no match for the moment; he tangled with Serena’s lips, ferocious and fiery.
After giving him a taste of sweetness, Serena shyly pushed him away.
Desire still smoldered in Martin’s eyes. He rasped, his voice husky as he looked at the demure girl wearing a blissful smile, "Are you serious?"
A flicker of disappointment and hurt crossed Serena’s eyes, "So my big confession just now fell flat? You don’t believe me? You think I’m just toying with you? Or do you despise me because I’m in a wheelchair, thinking I’m an embarrassment. If that’s the case, just pretend I never said a thing. Let me down, please."
Her words were cut short as he silenced her with a kiss.
After a long, passionate moment, Martin gazed at her with excitement and joy he couldn’t contain, his smile unstoppable, "Alright, let’s get engaged. But it should be me asking you. Give me a bit of time, I’ll
organize something special tonight."
"No need," Serena quickly interjected, "I don’t care about the formalities. I just want to settle down, be with someone I love. No matter how many great guys are out there, no matter what the world says or thinks, as long as we’re happy together for the rest of our lives, that’s enough for me."
As she spoke, Serena’s eyes sparkled with anticipation and sweetness, "I even want to have two kids with you, a boy and a girl."
Moved and elated, Martin watched her, "I’m glad you feel this way. Serena, you’ve changed, you love me even more."
"But," Serena hesitated again, "I’m afraid your family won’t accept me. I don’t want to cause you trouble."
"I’ll handle that," Martin assured her. "Just tell me when you want to get engaged, and I’ll take care of the rest."
"The sooner, the better!" Serena said eagerly, "I want to cut ties with the past quickly and start a new life with you, a fresh identity."
"Okay, I’ll talk to my family, pick a date, and we’ll get engaged as soon as possible."
Martin’s words made Serena wrap her arms around his neck with sheer joy in her eyes.
She had one thought: she had to hold on tight to this man. Otherwise, from every member of the Collins family to the clerks at the mall, anyone could look down on her, take her for granted.
That was the advantage of marrying into the Cooper family!
With that thought, Serena hugged Martin’s neck tighter, her smile beaming.
Elsewhere.
The crowd was buzzing with disbelief and shock.
[Serena, of all people, still has suitors? Is her allure really that irresistible?]
[Who the heck is Martin? Never heard of this guy before.]
[Does anyone have the scoop? I’m drawing a blank here.]
[Good heavens, you don’t know about the Coopers? The Cooper family owns department stores all over the world, with over six thousand locations and a workforce of over two hundred thousand. Martin leveraged his family’s resources to start his own logistics company. Just last year, he successfully raised funds, acquired a fleet of fifty cargo planes, and secured exclusive air routes. His business
reaches every corner of the country, setting the pace in the industry, and it’s seriously outperforming the competition. That delivery service you all love when you shop online? Yeah, that’s his baby!]
With the Coopers and Martin’s momentum, it seemed likely they could outpace the Collins family within five to seven years.
And then, the blogger dropped a photo of Martin.
[Goodness, is Martin that handsome? He’s got this wealthy heir vibe but also looks so composed.]
[Is he blind? Why would he go for someone like Serena?]
