Chapter 895
“Probably,” Jennifer said, lowering her head with a hint of reluctance in her eyes?
Teresa thought for a moment, sighing. “Find another job. You can stay here for now. You’ve got a good education, so finding work won’t be hard. She, transferred 3 thousand dollars to Jennifer in case she needed anything.
Jennifer felt touched. “Thank you. I’ll pay you back once I find a new job.”
“Take your time,” Teresa said, though she couldn’t help feeling a little sad. Even if they weren’t blood sisters, they had been family for decades. She felt deep sympathy for her.
It got darker outside, and the doorbell suddenly rang. Teresa came to open the door, assuring it was the delivery.
However, when she saw the tall man outside, she was surprised. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to pick you up,” Jonathan replied. He held his phone, intending to call her and see if she had fallen asleep. With one hand in his pocket, he said in a low voice, “Come home with me. Michael misses you.”
Teresa didn’t say a word.
“Who is it?” Jennifer walked out of the guest room after hearing the noise. Seeing Jonathan, she said, “What are you doing here? Teresa said she wasn’t staying with you.”
Jonathan’s expression darkened. “This is between me and her. It’s not your place to say anything.”
Jennifer sneered. “I appreciate the help you gave me before, but this time, your mother is wrong. She’s crazy. We don’t want to mess with your family. Please leave Teresa alone.”
Jonathan looked at Teresa and said, “I’m sorry. I promised you my mother wouldn’t return before you gave birth, but she did. I’ve also talked to Donald. He shouldn’t have called you.”
Jennifer got angry immediately. “What does Donald have to do with this? Why do you blame him?”
“Enough. I can handle this.” Teresa told Jennifer to go inside and not interrupt. Then she calmly looked at Jonathan, saying, “I’m not going. Just bring
Mike here.
“Mike said he doesn’t want to leave Forlisle Rose Estates. He wants you to come back with me,” Jonathan replied.
Teresa thought for a moment, but still shook her head. “I’m not going back. I’m doing just fine here, Bring Mike over when you have time.”
Jonathan stood still, staring at Teresa as if he wasn’t going to leave unless she went with him.
Jennifer raised both hands, placing them on Teresa’s shoulders. “You should leave. I’ll take care of Teresa. Otherwise, your mom will come back, yell at us, and make us apologize. We don’t want to offend her.”
Teresa pulled Jennifer aside and looked at Jonathan. Take care of your mom. I’ll send you the money for her medical expenses.”
“You don’t have to,” Jonathan said.
Teresa insisted, “I have to. I don’t want things to get complicated. Let’s just drop it here. I don’t want it to escalate.”
Jonathan said, “I don’t want things to get worse either, and I don’t want it to affect your pregnancy.” He kept saying he would take good care of her, but
in the end, he still failed.
Jonathan said, “My mom won’t bother you anymore. Just come back with me, okay?”
Jennifer cut in again, “Teresa’s doing just fine here. You aren’t really back together anyway.”

Chapter 805
Jonathan suddenly turned to look at Teresa, who said calmly, “She already knows.
Jonathan looked a bit puzzled. “Didn’t we agree not to tell anyone else?” He thought, How could she just fall Jennifer is this a joke to her?
Jennifer explained, “Teresa didn’t tell me. I figured it out myself. You two don’t look like you’re back together, and anyone can see that..
Jonathan frowned. “Whatever. It’s none of your business. Stop meddling in my affairs with her.”
Jennifer shrugged. “Fine, we don’t want to offend the Lynn family. You should leave before your mom comes after us again.”
“I’m tired. Just go home. And take care,” Teresa said and closed the door firmly. She drew open the balcony curtains and saw Jonathan’s Maybach parked at the gate.
She kept watching until he started the car and drove away. The headlights blinked and disappeared from view, just like their past, gone in the blink of an
eye.
Teresa kept gazing in the direction the car disappeared when Jennifer put her hands on her shoulders. “Let it go. The more you get involved, the more tired you’ll feel. His mother won’t change, and you’ll just get drained in the end.”
“I know.” Teresa said, “I’ll call him tomorrow and ask him to bring Mike back.”
“I could just go pick up Mike,” Jennifer said. “I’m not busy anyway, and Tdon’t have work right now.”
“Let’s talk about it tomorrow,” Teresa said, feeling a bit worn out.

Jonathan sped down the road on his way home, consumed by frustration with no outlet. The houses along the road were all brightly lit–the kind of home he used to dream about.
When his phone rang with a call from Michael, Jonathan instinctively slowed down. He answered gently, telling him he was almost home.
