“Mr. Daddy Lime” Michael was the first to spot Jonathan. He dashed over to Jonathan and said, “You’re awake. Why didn’t you sleep a little longer? Mom and I are making you a cake.”

Jonathan bent down and gave Michael’s little nose a gentle flick. “How do you know I am craving cake?” Jonathan asked.

“Maybe I can read your mind.” Michael replied and grinned. He then ran off happily to check if the cake was ready.

Jonathan walked over to Teresa. Only then did he tell her about Jennifer’s sentence. “She will probably be sentenced for about six months,” he said.

“What? Has the sentence been pronounced?” Teresa wanted to ask him as soon as he got back. But seeing how tired he was, she decided to let him rest.

“We’re waiting for the court date to be set. Benny will take care of it. According to him, it should be about six months,” Jonathan explained.

Though six months wasn’t a long time, it passed slowly. Teresa had complicated feelings. After thinking for a moment, she said, “I want to go visit her.”

Jonathan frowned. “No.”

Teresa said, “I know you’re worried I’ll get too emotional and it’ll affect the baby, but I just want to see her. There’s something I need to talk to her.”

Jonathan fell silent. Finally, he said, “I can set it up, but you have to promise me one thing.”

“What is it?” Teresa asked.

“After that, you and Michael need to head straight to Jarisburg,” Jonathan told her.

He had no idea if Eason would try anything else, and he wasn’t about to risk Teresa or their kids.

Jonathan had made all the arrangements at the postpartum care center and delivery suite in Jarisburg, just waiting for Teresa to show up.
