Abriella burst in, breathless, and shoved the suitcase into Emmy’s hands.
“Emmy, I made it! I’m not late, am I?”
Emmy took one look at Abriella’s bright red cheeks, grabbed the suitcase, and smiled. “You’re right on time. Go get some water and take a breather.”
She hauled the suitcase over to the workstation, flipped it open, and started hooking everything up. As she worked, she looked up, scanning the crowd until her eyes landed on Juan.
“Mr. Carter, I’m ready. We can start whenever you are.”
In no time, the staff had set up even more streaming equipment. A swarm of influencers showed up, cameras pointed straight at Emmy, hoping to catch something viral.
Juan didn’t stop them. Lately, Emmy had been riding high in the company. Maybe it was time she faced some pushback. She was still young—she needed to learn how to handle the heat.
The whole conference room was buzzing, voices flying everywhere, the noise almost shaking the ceiling.
“Seriously? My company just switched to the Dome system. Could this timing be any worse?”
“You better uninstall it fast. Social media is losing its mind—everyone’s calling her a thief.”
Up on the big screen, the official livestream chat was blowing up.
“Get this hack out of the AI world!”
“Any boss using stolen tech deserves to go bankrupt!”
“Ctrl+C coders aren’t real programmers!”
“What a disgrace! Someone check if her thesis is even real!”
“Ban her from every platform. She’s a cancer to the industry!”
The insults just kept coming, nastier by the second.
Down below, Abriella was so furious her eyes turned red. She clutched her phone, firing back at the comments.
“You people know nothing! Spreading lies has consequences!”
