Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 327

But just as Emmy was about to step forward, a large hand appeared in front of the door, stopping her in her tracks.

“Ms. Lincoln, if you’d like to go inside, we’ll need to announce you first.” The bodyguard was big, dressed in black, and though he bowed politely, there was no room for argument in his voice.

That’s when Emmy realized she was being a little too impulsive. Still, the voice she’d heard from inside kept tugging at her heart, making her even more anxious to get in.

“Would you mind letting them know I’m here?” she said, trying to sound calm.

The bodyguard nodded, slipped inside, and quickly closed the door behind him. Emmy leaned forward, trying to catch a glimpse of anything through the window, but all she saw was the deep green of pine trees in the courtyard. Nothing else.

Inside, the bodyguard walked over quietly and spoke in a low voice.

“Mr. Nelson, Ms. Lincoln is here to see the madam again. Should I let her in now?”

Tyler heard this and immediately turned to James, keeping his voice down. “Your wife’s here. Are you really going to let her see you like that?”

James was still wearing the same black jacket he’d put on that morning. He’d planned to visit his grandmother and then go pick up Emmy, so he hadn’t bothered changing clothes. But if Emmy saw him here, dressed so casually, it wouldn’t take much for her to piece together his secret. The whole Mr. Nelson persona would fall apart on the spot.

Tyler saw James hesitate and lowered his voice even more. “I know you want to tell her the truth. But are you sure she can handle finding out that her hero—the guy who saves people for a living—is actually the ruthless Mr. Nelson?”

James stayed silent.
