Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 340

Krystina knew her stuff. She could tell right away how advanced Emmy’s explanation had been, and it floored her. At first, she’d honestly thought their mentor was playing favorites, maybe slipping Emmy the answers or making things easier for her. But after hearing Emmy break it all down, Krystina realized with a shock that her new junior was actually the real deal.

That realization hit hard. The memory of all her earlier sarcasm made her cheeks burn with embarrassment. She wished she could just sink into the floor and disappear.

Emmy just smiled, easy and unbothered. “Nico and I were in the same programming club when we were kids. Our mentor came out of retirement to teach us for a while.”

“So actually, I started learning from him before you did.”

“I’ve just been a bit distracted these past few years with personal stuff. But dealing with viruses has always been my thing.”

Krystina’s face flushed even redder. So in the end, Emmy was actually the more experienced student here. Everything Krystina had just said sounded ridiculous now.

She cleared her throat, looking almost sheepish for the first time. Her voice was stiff and awkward as she apologized. “Um… about earlier, sorry, okay? It’s just—well, you’re so pretty, I… I was honestly just jealous.”

Emmy laughed, the tension breaking. “No worries. I actually like how straightforward you are.”

Just then, Dominic walked over and handed the Digital Codex to Emmy like it was some sacred artifact. Then he turned to Krystina, his face serious.

“Krystina, you really need to work on your attitude.”

He sounded gentle, but there was steel in his voice. “You have eyes for a reason—use them to see for yourself, not just to listen to rumors. Judging people based on gossip or assumptions is the worst thing you can do—both as a student and as a person.”

“Today, your little sister taught you an important lesson. I hope you remember it.”

Suddenly, someone knocked at the door.

“Come in,” Dominic called.

The door swung open.

A tall man stepped in, almost filling the doorway with his presence. He wore a plain black jacket and casual pants, but somehow he drew more attention than anyone in a tailored suit.

His short hair was neat, his brow strong, his eyes deep-set, and his jawline looked like it had been carved from stone.

For a second, the whole room went dead silent.
