Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 349

She leaned in close, her voice dropping to a whisper as she shared her secret.

With every word, Cooper’s eyes lit up even more. Whatever irritation he’d felt vanished, replaced by a greedy, almost giddy excitement. He pulled Claudia into a fierce hug, his lips crashing onto hers. His hands couldn’t keep still, tugging at her already wrinkled dress.

“My Claudia, you’re brilliant! As soon as I get what I want, we’ll be out of here for good. I promise, we’ll never come back!”

He was breathless, eyes wild. “Give me another son, and the Lincoln family name will finally continue…”

The next morning

Emmy woke up to her phone buzzing insistently on the nightstand. Groggy, she reached for it and saw Marian’s name flashing on the screen. She swiped to answer.

“Hello...?”

On the other end, Marian’s voice was thick with tears, muffled like she was trying not to sob out loud. It was the kind of panic that made Emmy’s heart drop.

“Miss Emmy, the security cameras at the villa—the ones you told me to keep an eye on—I finally found something! That woman came back last night! She and Mr. Lincoln… they were… together…”

Emmy shot upright, instantly wide awake. “I’ll be there right away.”

She ended the call and threw off her covers, already running scenarios in her head. The last time she’d visited the villa and noticed things missing, she hadn’t fired Brooks, the butler who always played both sides. Instead, she’d given him a gentle warning, telling him to return what was missing. After that, she’d stopped meddling. It was all part of her plan—leave the place for Cooper, let him get comfortable, and eventually catch him in the act.

She’d expected that whenever Cooper wanted to pull something at the villa, he’d turn off the security cameras first. So she’d updated the system: it now backed up to the cloud 24/7, and even if someone switched the cameras off, they’d restart automatically after a minute.

Meanwhile, she’d kept Marian at the detective agency, safe and with just one job—monitor the cameras. And now, finally, it had paid off.

Judging by Marian’s voice, Emmy suspected things were worse than just an affair.

She dressed in record time, ready to run out the door. But the moment she opened her bedroom door, the smell of breakfast hit her.
