As evening fell, Dorothy finished her work and was about to leave office when Sonia appeared and knocked on the door gently. “Dr. Acosta.“]

Dorothy looked up and asked calmly. “What’s up?“]

“Our hospital is negotiating a construction project for the Sleep Medicine Center. There’s a dinner meeting with government officials tonight. You’re going.“]

Sonia placed a file on her desk.]

Dorothy glanced at the file and laughed. “Dr. Frazier, you don’t go for the negotiation? Why do you hand this project to me?“[]

“Dr. Acosta, are you still holding a grudge over what happened before?” Sonia replied with a smile. “We’re colleagues after all, and I trust your abilities. I’m very confident you can handle this project well.“]

Afraid Dorothy might refuse, Sonia added, “Besides, this is Dwayne’s request. He said I would take over your duties, so I asked you to negotiate the project. Don’t turn me down.”

Dorothy clenched her fists tightly.]

Her role and Sonia’s were unrelated. Dwayne clearly intended to abuse his power and have Sonia oversee her.[]
