In the spacious CEO’s office, Landon narrowed his eyes at the view outside, his face set in a hard line.
After a long pause, he dialed Daniel. “How does Shelby know about the Life Elixir?”
“Wait, what?” Daniel blurted out, completely caught off guard.
Daniel was left speechless by the question.
“She claims the Life Elixir can cure Jeffrey’s split personality,” Landon said, his tone icy.
“No way!” Daniel shot back without hesitation.
Daniel immediately shut that idea down.
‘The Life Elixir only works on the aftereffects of the Rebirth Technique–it wouldn’t do anything for other illnesses, unless someone in the Gellar family has also been reborn…‘
‘But that’s just impossible,‘ Daniel thought.
“I just remembered,” Daniel said, his tone sharpening. “Wasn’t your cousin Marvin involved with the Mystic Sect for a while? Maybe Marvel was the one who told him.”
Landon felt there was more to it than that.
When Marvin died, Joanna hadn’t even given the ancient book to Marvel yet.
‘Unless…‘
Landon’s gaze sharpened, his whole body going rigid.
He hung up on Daniel and immediately called someone inside Project Azureveil. “Where’s Marvel?”
“He… he got away,” someone stammered on the other end.
Landon’s face fell, shock written all over his features.
‘How did he manage to break out of Project Azureveil?‘
“And Monica?” Landon asked, barely keeping his cool.
“She’s gone too,” the person replied, sounding defeated.
Landon almost dropped an F–bomb.
Marvel’s got brains and moves—sure, him escaping makes sense.
But Monica? She’s got nothing but a hopeless crush and a baby bump–how did she even manage to get away?

“Then what?” Landon took a few deep breaths, trying not to lose it.

“We’re trying our best to find them,” the person replied, sounding desperate. “But they left no trace when they left…
“Useless!” Landon snapped and hung up.
Security at Project Azureveil was tight, with guards everywhere and a state–of–the–art security system.
Anyone locked up there was watched around the clock, every angle covered—no blind spots, ever.
If anything seemed off, the guards would show up in a heartbeat.
How could they escape without leaving a single trace?
There had to be a mole.
Landon’s presence filled the room, his gaze icy and sharp as a blade.
“Honey!” Amelia walked in carrying afternoon tea, and froze for a second when she saw Landon looking so furious.
Landon reined in his aura in a flash, turning back to her as gentle as ever, as if nothing had happened. “Didn’t expect you here.”
Ever since Amelia took the Life Elixir, she didn’t need to use work as an emotional escape anymore.
Gloria had told her to rest at home and take care of herself and the baby, and if she got bored, the two of them could always go on shopping sprees together.
“I was out buying toys for Kimsey and thought I’d bring you some afternoon tea,” Amelia said as she laid out
the treats.
With her belly getting bigger, bending over was starting to get tricky.
Landon quickly helped her sit down and took over setting everything up himself.
Knowing Landon wasn’t into sweets, Amelia had brought him an Americano.
For herself, she had a spread of fruits, mini cakes, and milkshakes.
“Look at this feast–I’ve only got a cup of coffee. Whose afternoon tea is this supposed to be?” Landon said, shaking his head with a laugh, trying to hide the worry gnawing at him.
“It’s all about being together!” Amelia said brightly.
She giggled, “Honey, did you notice? I’ve put on some weight again.”
“It’s normal for pregnant women to gain weight,” Landon replied. “Honestly, I was worried you weren’t putting on enough.”

Thinking back to those days when she was teetering on the edge, so irritable and thin–he’d been worried sick watching her face grow more gaunt by the day.
Honestly, putting on a little weight is a good thing–it means both you and the baby are healthy.
“Look at my appetite these days,” Amelia said, setting down her cake after just a couple bites. “What if I blow up like a balloon? I weighed myself today and I’m already five pounds heavier!”
“Isn’t that what every mom–to–be worries about?” Landon said, scooping up some cake and feeding it to her, bite by bite.
Pregnancy cravings are seriously impossible to control.
Amelia wanted to watch her weight, but in the end, she still let Landon sweet–talk her into finishing the cake.
She just kept snacking on fruit.
“Honey, I’m really putting on weight…” Amelia said, sounding a little worried.
“You were worried about that when you were pregnant with Kimsey too,” Landon said with a chuckle. “And you slimmed right down after, remember?”
“But I was younger then…” Amelia said, making a face.
“You’re not old now,” Landon couldn’t help but laugh. “Babe, you’re only twenty–three!”
“It’s not the same with the second kid!” Amelia puffed out her cheeks, insisting.
She stubbornly argued, “I’m telling you, this time I’m definitely going to end up chubby after the baby.”
Landon just shook his head, pinched her cheek, and said, “I like you with a little extra on you–more to love.”
Right then, Aaron came in with some files, overheard Landon’s words, and slipped right back out, grinning.
Amelia’s face turned bright red.
“Don’t say stuff like that,” Amelia muttered, cheeks burning. “Someone might get the wrong idea about us…”
“Doing what, exactly?” Landon asked, feigning innocence.
Amelia glared at Landon, her face turning even redder.
Landon sat back, crossed his legs, and put on his most innocent face. “Honey, why don’t you spell it out for
me?”
Amelia stomped her foot, grabbed her yogurt and purple rice drink, and sucked it down like her life depended on it.
Landon frowned. “Don’t drink so much caramel macchiato!”
“This one’s made by our chef,” Amelia said, shaking her caramel macchiato. “It’s delicious—no additives at all!”

“Oh, so I don’t get any?” Landon asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Of course not,” Amelia said, sticking her tongue out at him.
