Ex-Wife's Revenge (Alaricka) novel Chapter 279

Chapter279

Chapter279

Director Li said with an awkward smile: “It was my fault for not recognizing her. I didn’t know this young lady was Mr. Argent’s sister. I’ve offended you greatly.”

Even when saying this, Director Li was facing Kieran. Alarieka stood behind him, watching coldly.

“As for the situation with this matter, I, I also-” Director Li turned back and glared fiercely at the woman and the little boy. “You tell me, what exactly happened?”

The little boy burst into tears instantly, hiding behind the woman and wailing uncontrollably. He clutched her clothes with both hands: “Mommy, Mommy, I’m so scared…”

The woman forced a smile, gathering the boy into her arms. She murmured softly: “It’s… it’s just like I said. Y-yes, she splashed water on my son. I didn’t say anything wrong.”

Rose frowned, adopting an exasperated expression as she looked toward Kieran: “Kieran?”

Kieran’s voice dropped low: “Alarieka, you explain.”

The woman immediately bit her lip, gazing at Kieran with pitiful eyes: “Mr. Argent-”

“Wasn’t me.”

Alaricka’s voice cut through, cool and decisive, slicing off the woman’s words.

The woman’s face stiffened. She turned her head, and from an angle hidden from Kieran’s view, shot Alaricka a venomous glare.

Kieran nodded, his reply clipped: “Alright.”

That single word carried layers of meaning, instantly understood by those present. The hospital director’s face paled to an ashen white.

Kieran stated bluntly: “Director Li, I require an explanation.”

Director Li stammered hastily: “Mr. Argent, there must be some misunderstanding here! We can clear this up easily. I only just arrived myself, I don’t know what they’ve been doing!”

The woman’s face also drained of color.

Given how deferential her uncle was toward Mr. Argent, this situation was likely serious. Serious enough that her uncle, the hospital director, couldn’t handle it.

Suddenly, her uncle yanked her forward.

She heard him betray her without hesitation: “Mr. Argent, this trouble was caused by my niece. I know someone like your sister would never do such a thing. So it must be my niece’s fault. Rest assured, Mr. Argent, I will resolve this. I won’t show favoritism. I will give this young lady an explanation.”

The woman whispered, stunned: “Uncle?”

Seeing Kieran remained silent, Director Li grabbed the woman again, pulling her before Alarjeka. He pressed his hand firmly on the back of her neck, forcing her into a bow toward Alaricka.

“Apologize!

Apologize to this young lady!”

Director Li commanded sternly.

Bent over under the pressure, the woman lifted her head dazedly to look at Alarieka.

Abruptly, her eyes seemed to sting.

Alarieka’s gaze was calm, yet the woman felt certain she saw mockery there, as if Alarieka was laughing at her expense.

Recalling everything that had just happened, fury surged through the woman. She immediately shook off her uncle’s hand.

“I did nothing wrong! Why should I apologize? It was her hot water that scalded my son! She hasn’t apologized! Why should I?”

Director Li instantly looked toward Kieran in panic. Catching the clear displeasure in Kieran’s eyes, his own face darkened: “I told you to apologize, so apologize! Stop wasting words!”

The woman drew a deep breath: “I won’t apologize!”

Alarieka gave a soft, derisive snort: “Then let’s check the surveillance footage. See how your son ran over and crashed into someone with a limp. See how he knocked over my thermos. See how he reaped what he sowed.”

The woman’s mouth snapped shut suddenly.

Kieran said: “So that’s how it was.”

Director Li’s eyes filled with despair as he looked at the woman, his gaze practically willing her dead.

The woman kept her head bowed, not daring to meet his eyes.

Kieran suddenly walked over, brushed past the director’s shoulder, grabbed the handles of Alarieka’s wheelchair with both hands, and said softly, “I’ll have my assistant contact you.”

With that, Kieran pushed Alarieka’s wheelchair past them without a glance.

He paused just before exiting.

Dean Li thought he’d relented and hurriedly said, “Mr. Argent, will you hear me out now?”

Kieran replied coldly, “Clean this floor. Bring a new thermos.”

Dean Li nodded eagerly, “Yes, yes, of course.”

Kieran turned, his gaze dark and razor-sharp. “Use your own bodies. Get on the floor and wipe it clean with your clothes. If I spot one dirty patch-” his voice dropped, icy and absolute, “-you’ll lick it clean.”

His tone brooked no argument, low and cold yet crushing.

Dean Li and the woman froze.

The woman stared at the trampled water stains, aghast. Use our bodies to clean this? Impossible! She’d never endured such humiliation. “What for?” she spat. “Your sister spilled it! I won’t-”

Dean Li yanked her wrist, shoving her behind him. “Have you lost your mind? Shut up!”

She gaped at him. “Uncle, did you hear him? He wants us crawling on
