Cynthia Fulton had put in a lot of effort to deliver the basket of live river crabs to the customer’s specified location, only to find that all the guests at the party were her acquaintances.
"We didn’t order anything like this."
The Morrison Family’s butler walked over, pinched his nose, and ordered Cynthia Fulton, "Please leave immediately, or I’ll call security."
"No, I’m not here to cause trouble. I’m really here to deliver seafood..."
Cynthia Fulton tried to explain further, but a guest at the party mocked, "Whoever ordered it, since it’s already delivered, let her bring it in. Otherwise, it seems she can’t get paid for this delivery. She’s probably counting on that delivery fee to have a nice dinner tonight!"
"Isn’t that Cynthia Fulton? After the Fulton Family went bankrupt, she ended up delivering takeout?"
"Hey, Little Manager Meng, didn’t you pursue her before?"
"Ugh! Who would chase after a woman reeking of seafood... wasn’t she Justin Nash’s fiancée?"
Cynthia Fulton listened to the humiliation from her former acquaintances, tears brimming in her eyes.
The next second, she saw Serena Jennings.
Serena Jennings was dressed to the nines, looking every bit like an elite socialite.
In contrast, Cynthia Fulton was wearing a takeout uniform dirtied by seafood, with no trace of her former elegance.
Serena Jennings noticed Cynthia Fulton glaring at her.
She guessed that Cynthia Fulton likely misunderstood that she had purposely assigned her to deliver seafood to embarrass her in public.
However, it wasn’t Serena’s doing.
Even though Cynthia Fulton had wronged her before, Cynthia Fulton was already facing her own consequences. Serena had no intention to waste such precious time and energy on someone like Cynthia Fulton.
It’s not worth it.
Serena Jennings averted her gaze, ignoring Cynthia Fulton as if she were invisible.
Cynthia Fulton, grinding her teeth in hatred, heard the mocking voices again:
"Speak of the devil, look, isn’t that Justin Nash?"
Cynthia Fulton turned instinctively, her eyes wide open.
In her view, Justin Nash, in his suit and leather shoes, was walking towards the party venue, accompanied by a well-dressed woman.
"Isn’t that the granddaughter of the president of Spectra Tech? I heard their wedding date is already set."
"No surprise there; Justin always lands on his feet. Dumped Cynthia Fulton with that face of his and replaced her with someone better in no time."
Cynthia Fulton grabbed the basket of seafood and turned to run, panicking.
She couldn’t let Justin Nash see her in such a state!
However, Cynthia Fulton wasn’t strong enough and the basket of live river crabs spilled all over the ground before she could move it all.
If a single crab was missing, forget about getting paid; she’d end up losing a lot of money instead.
Cynthia Fulton was carrying debts, and money was more valuable than life to her.
She desperately tried to catch the crabs with her bare hands, but ended up yelping as the crabs nipped her, leaving her in a pitiful state.
Many at the party were laughing uproariously.
"What an entertaining party, even has a clown act!"
Cynthia Fulton crawled and stumbled, gathering the crabs, until she reached Justin Nash’s feet.
Her whole body froze, but Justin Nash merely looked at her disdainfully before continuing on with his companion.
Cynthia Fulton couldn’t hold back any longer, and tears burst from her eyes.
After Cynthia Fulton left, the sharp laughter at the party faded, and everyone returned to being the polite gentlemen and ladies.
Serena Jennings silently watched as Justin Nash mingled with a girl she didn’t know.
Justin Nash seemed to have recovered well.
However, Serena Jennings felt that Justin Nash had changed, becoming someone completely unfamiliar.
Claire Shaw excused herself to the restroom, leaving Caleb Lockwood’s side.
Walking through the empty halls of the Golden Sparrow Palace, she took out her phone and sent a WeChat message to Cynthia Fulton:
Have you really stopped considering what we discussed last time?
Claire Shaw waited for a while before finally receiving Cynthia Fulton’s reply:
I’m in.
Seeing those two words, a triumphant smile immediately bloomed on Claire Shaw’s face.
