Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1947

Fiona glanced over, frowning a little. What was Jackson still doing here this late? And how did he end up running into Jane of all people?

Jane was fiercely protective of her—there was no way she’d let Jackson just walk away, not after everything. Luckily, Tyler’s call came through right then and distracted her. Fiona only half-registered the voices by the door.

“Jane, just let him go,” Fiona said quietly.

Jane looked at her like she’d lost her mind, pulling Fiona aside and whispering, “Are you serious, Fiona? After how Jackson treated you, you’re just letting him off? No way. I swear, I’ll make him apologize.”

While Jane was busy ranting, Fiona took the chance to wave Jackson off. If Jane kept going like this, she’d never let it go.

Jackson caught the signal and nearly laughed. Fiona looked like a little kid, waving her hand all frantic like that.

He didn’t stick around. He slipped out fast—if he stayed any longer, people would start waking up, and then things would get messy for Fiona.

By the time Jane turned back, Jackson was already gone.

She fumed. That sneaky Jackson, always finding a way to slip out. Next time, she’d catch him for sure. Maybe then she could finally help Fiona get some revenge.

“Fiona, why’d you stop me? I could’ve set him straight for you! After everything he’s done, you can’t just let it slide.”

Fiona just tugged her into the room. It was still early, but she headed straight to the bathroom to freshen up, not even bothering to explain.

“Totally shameless,” Fiona agreed, nodding with her mouth full.

Jane was thrown. She stared, confused for a second. “Wait, what do you mean?”

Fiona shrugged, grabbing a piece of sausage. “He’s a jerk. Next time you see him, give him a good beating for me.”

Jane almost got sucked into Fiona’s rhythm, but then she scowled, grabbing the fork from Fiona’s hand. “Fiona, why was Jackson coming out of your room? He doesn’t care about your reputation at all! What if someone saw? What exactly happened between you two—”

Jane’s words trailed off as something clicked in her mind. She suddenly went quiet, realization dawning on her face, her heart thumping in her chest.
