“How could you let anyone block Ms. Fiona from coming in?” A steward rushed over, all nervous smiles, and hurried to lead Fiona inside. “Ms. Fiona, right this way, please.”
Ever since Fiona had shown her ruthless side at the Stonnell estate, the family’s troublemakers had completely lost their nerve. Now, no one dared step out of line.
“Bring every Stonnell family member here. And everyone on this list, too. As of now, the entire estate is in lockdown.”
The steward didn’t even try to argue. He just forced a shaky smile and nodded, clearly terrified.
“Fiona, I’ll come with you and see what’s going on.”
“Okay. Just be careful,” Fiona replied. With desperate people, you never knew what might happen. Better safe than sorry.
Fiona walked into the ancestral hall, lit a stick of incense at the altar, then took her seat at the head of the room, waiting as people were brought in one by one.
“Ms. Fiona, is there anything you need?” an attendant asked, setting a steaming cup of tea on the table. His voice trembled.
“Go get the family code. Now.”
“Yes, Ms. Fiona.” He was shaking so badly his knees nearly knocked together. You could tell something big was about to go down at the Stonnell estate.
And it wasn’t just him—everyone felt it. The whole air was tense.
After Fiona’s run-in with International Glam and the Country M agents, word had spread all over the States. Anyone with secrets or a guilty conscience was scared out of their mind.
Most of them had only one thought: run.
Out by the back gate, Tyler didn’t have to wait long before he spotted a few family members trying to slip away. He grabbed them without mercy and dragged them back inside. It was obvious—anyone sneaking out the back was up to no good.
They didn’t stand a chance.
One of them picked up the ledger and flipped through it. Instantly, they realized this was no ordinary account book. It was full of records about dealings with Country M, secret experiments, even a list of “chip people” inside the Stonnell family.
It was unreal—completely beyond anything they could have imagined.
“Fiona, what does all this mean?” someone finally asked.
“Can’t read, or just pretending not to understand?” Fiona shot them a cold look, her eyes narrowing. “Carry out the sentence.”
Right away, the Enforcement Division stepped in and started enforcing the old family law, right there in the hall.
The scene was brutal—blood everywhere. Fiona sat through it all, stone-faced, watching as justice was served.
Some of the Stonnell family couldn’t take it and threw up on the spot. If Fiona hadn’t ordered them to stay, they never would have witnessed something this savage. No one had seen the family code enforced like this in years.
