Chapter 41
Vincent raised an eyebrow. “In such a hurry for you to get divorced?”
Isolde didn’t expect him to ask that.
She let out a light laugh. “The agreement is what you asked Doris to give me, isn’t it good for me to be sensible and make room for you guys?”
Vincent narrowed his eyes, their color obscure.
“Vincent, our marriage was a deal to begin with, and for the past five years I thought I had fulfilled my duties and obligations as a stepmother in place, and now that Doris is back, and I’ve returned both you and Rowan to their rightful owners, what are you not happy with?”
Isolde’s voice was not soft and her tone could even be described as extremely flat.
But only she herself knew that with every word she said, her heart was pierced through a hole, forming a gap that could no longer be healed.
Her full of fresh and hot blood was being lost from those gaps little by little.
No one knew just how much heart and blood she had consumed to make herself look so bulletproof at the moment.
“Since you’re not comfortable with it.” Vincent looked at her and said in a deep voice, “Then let’s revise the agreement in person.”
“In person?” Isolde asked, “To your law firm?”
“Back to the Moonlight Villa.” Vincent said, “By the way, look for the other marriage license, I can’t find it.”
Isolde didn’t want to go back to Moonlight Villa, “The marriage license was in the nightstand.”
“I looked for it, it wasn’t there.”
“I clearly put it in the nightstand.” Isolde emphasized.
“It really wasn’t.” Vincent raised an eyebrow, “You think I’m lying to you?”
Isolde was speechless.
She didn’t think Vincent would lie to her about this.
There was no reason for him to.
She pursed her lips and sighed, “Let’s go then.”
Vincent opened the passenger door for her.
Isolde scanned the script that landed on the passenger side.
It didn’t take much guessing to realize it was Doris’s.
She pursed her lips, opened the backseat door herself, and bent into the car.
Vincent was silent for a split second, closing the door and going around to the driver’s seat.
The Maybach pulled away.
Not far away a van quietly follows.

Chapter 41
Twenty minutes later, the Maybach pulls into the courtyard of Moonlight Villa.
Isolde opens the door and gets out.
The two entered the house one after the other.
The high–definition camera in the van captured this scene
Isolde entered the house and went straight to the bedroom, pulling open the nightstand drawer.
The marriage license was really gone!
But she clearly remembers that she put the marriage license in this drawer before she left, right?
Isolde searched the room.
Finally, she found it in the dresser drawer.
Looking at the marriage license in her hand, Isolde was a bit puzzled.
Could it be that she remembered it wrong?
Or maybe Rowan was naughty and played with it, and casually put it over here?
Isolde felt that the latter was more likely.
After all, Rowan often did this kind of thing.
She took the marriage license and walked out of the bedroom, heading straight to the study.
Raising her hand, she knocked on the study door.
Vincent’s voice came from inside: “Come in.”
Isolde pushed the door open and walked in, “Found the marriage license.”
She put the marriage license on the desk.
Vincent was typing on his computer, at the sound of his voice he stopped moving and scanned the marriage license, then looked up at Isolde.
“Where did you find it?”
“The dresser drawer.”
Vincent raised an eyebrow, “Not in the nightstand?”
Isolde frowned, not wanting to be misunderstood, so she explained, “I remember it being in the nightstand, maybe Rowan took it out to play with it later and misplaced it.”
“Rowan hasn’t been back for the last couple days.”
Isolde: “…..”
Well, let’s just say she misremembered!
