Forced To Be The Mafia King's Bride novel Chapter 15

Gia’s POV

Dante’s tongue pushed into my mouth, demanding entrance, and I parted my lips without thinking. He took over, no gentleness, just a deep, consuming hunger. His kiss claimed every corner of my mouth.

For a moment, I froze. I didn’t even know how to respond. I’d never been kissed before.

Then he pulled back slightly, breath hot against my lips, and growled, “Let go... and feel this.”

I shut my eyes and gave in.

He kissed me again, this time fiercer, and I let myself fall into it. My lips moved with his, hungry and helpless.

My fingers dug in the sheets as heat surged through me, my back arching off the bed.

A moan slipped out before I could stop it.

I leaned in more, chasing the taste of his mouth, craving the way he made me feel like I was burning from the inside out.

And just when I didn’t want the kiss to end, when I would’ve given anything for more, he pushed off me and stood beside the bed.

I sat up slowly, eyes following him, still trying to catch my breath. My lips were swollen and tingling from the force of his kiss.

He reached back, brushing his thumb over my lips again, and said with a dark, satisfied grin, “Now we’re bound by blood. There’s no escaping me, little doll.”

He turned away.

My gaze drifted to his back, and lower. The way his pants sat on his hips, how broad his shoulders were as he walked...

God, each step he took exuded command and control.

He reached the door, opened it, and paused. I heard a muffled voice from outside, another man, I thought, but I couldn’t make out what they were saying.

Then Dante stepped back into the room, and he wasn’t alone.

The older woman from last night was with him.

Dante glanced my way. “Madame Grace,” he said, “let me formally introduce you to Gianna. She’s the new lady of the house.”

My brain short-circuited.

Lady of the house?

What did that even mean?

His eyes found mine again, stern. “She’ll make sure you’re well settled in your new home.”

Then he leaned toward Grace and murmured, “Make sure she gets everything she needs.”

He just walked away, completely unconcerned that I might have questions.

I shook my head at his sheer audacity. Everything he did was on his terms.

Grace stepped forward.

“Gianna, it’s lovely to officially meet you,” she said politely.

“I’m not sure I can say the same,” I replied, trying not to sound rude, but the words slipped out anyway.

She gave me a knowing smile.

“What?” I asked, frowning at her expression.

“Don Dante mentioned you were strong willed and might pose slightly difficult. He cautioned me to be prepared.” She chuckled softly. “I suppose he was right.”

I scoffed. “Bold of him to call me difficult when he’s the...”

“Miss Gianna,” she interrupted, still smiling, “Don Dante has requested that we join him for breakfast in an hour. So if I’m to help you get ready, we need to begin.”

I crossed my arms. “Thanks, Grace, but I think I can manage.”

She waved her hands in a dismissive manner.

“I’m sure you can. But you’ll learn there are consequences to disobeying Dante’s rules.”

A chill passed through me. I’d already learned that lesson, three times. I wasn’t eager for a fourth.

“You’re right about that part,” I mumbled under my breath. “Let’s get started.”

Grace nodded approvingly and gestured toward the bathroom.

I stood, following her in silence, already dreading what the rest of the day would bring.

Grace ran the water while I stood at the edge of the tub, watching steam curl into the air. She poured lavender, bath oils, and something pearly into the bath until a soft layer of bubbles began to form.
