Chapter 159
Grandma Wilson fell silent, which meant she had compromised. Franklin asked, “Have you eaten?”
Grandma Wilson hung up immediately.
Franklin looked at the phone and chuckled softly,
Isabella, curious, looked over and asked, “What happened?”
Franklin calmly put his phone down. “Your great–grandmother is angry,”
“Ah? Did you make great–grandmother angry?” Isabella asked.
“Mm.”
“Are you going to make up with her?“.
“Not now. We’ll talk later.”
“Okay…”
When they got back to the company, Johnny didn’t ask about the parent–child event. He simply said, “You’re back? Have you eaten?”
Maggie replied, “Not yet.”
“Come with me, I’ll treat you to a meal.”
Maggie smiled. “Alright.”
At the restaurant, they ran into Mr. Lee from Wilson Corporation, who was there with his family.
Mr. Lee let his family go ahead into the private room and then said to Johnny, “I originally thought we might have another chance to cooperate, but now I’m not so sure…”
Johnny smiled faintly, “I heard your new project is quite impressive?”
“Yes, it’s great. It was personally decided by President Wilson, so there shouldn’t be any mistakes.”
Gh.” Johnny responded coolly and then asked, “I heard the parts involving the Brown and Green families.

re pretty important. Did anyone in your company object?”
Well, there are some objections, but it won’t have a big impact.” Mr. Lee replied, “When a company has a good project, the other shareholders naturally want to assign their people.
But President Wilson rarely gets directly involved in these things. It would be unreasonable to object just because President Wilson has chosen his people for a part of the project.
Moreover, the Brown and Green families are capable and follow the rules, so overall the impact is
minimal.”
Johnny remained silent.
He didn’t want to listen anymore and said, “Alright, I won’t keep you from your family. We’ll catch up
next time.”
“Good, good,” Mr. Lee said, eager to end the conversation.
Once Mr. Lee left, Johnny said to Maggie, “Let’s go in.”
“Mm.”
After dinner, they returned to the company and were soon informed that Rex was waiting for them..
Maggie and Johnny had no intention of meeting him.
Rex didn’t leave, and by the evening, when Maggie was leaving for the parking lot, he called out to her.
“Miss Miller.”
Maggie turned around, her tone cold. “Mr. Hardin, is there something?”
Rex looked at her. “Let’s talk.”
Rex shook his head. “I’ve really studied the Cole project, and I’m quite interested.”
Even if Rex hadn’t said anything, after learning about the project, he still wanted to get involved.
“Alright,” Yves said. “How about we think of other breakthroughs?”
At that moment, Yves noticed Jimmy beside him and said, “By the way, Jim, last time when you were dancing, you seemed to have a good conversation with her.
She seemed to have a good attitude toward you. Rex couldn’t get through to her, so why don’t you try mediating between them, ease the tension between them?”
Jimmy put down his teacup and replied, “I don’t have much of a relationship with her. It’s not suitable for me.”

yves said, “Then why don’t you talk to Johnny? You and Johnny have some history, don’t you?”
my responded, “I could, but I don’t think Johnny will listen.”
From the look on Maggie’s face when she agreed to switch dance partners, he had noticed that she and Johnny didn’t seem to be in a romantic relationship. However, Johnny did seem to care deeply about Maggie.
He didn’t think that helping Rexpatch things up with Johnny would make Johnny agree to cooperate with
him.
Yves said, “So, it seems we’ll have to approach Miss Miller after all? But we don’t really know her. How do we even start? Should we find someone to investigate her?”
Rex shook his head. “Forget it. I don’t want to waste any more time on her. I’ll contact the old man later.”
Jimmy immediately caught on. “You mean you’ll approach Mr. Nolan?”
“Exactly.”
Johnny was a student of Nolan. If Nolan spoke up, Rex believed that Johnny wouldn’t refuse.
They didn’t waste any time.
