Chapter 225

Chapter 225

Maggie was about to say something when Franklin’s phone rang again.

It was probably a call from Julia. As Franklin walked out of the room to answer the phone, he spoke gently, “The situation isn’t too serious. There’s no need to worry too much…”

After Franklin returned from his call, Isabella had woken up.

Seeing them, she groggily called out, “Dad, Mom.”

Both Maggie and Franklin responded in unison, “Mm.”

Perhaps because of the dizziness, Isabella, still lying on the bed, looked at her father, then at her mother. Not long after, she furrowed her little brow in discomfort and fell asleep again.

Concerned not to disturb Isabella’s rest, both Franklin and Maggie silently waited for a while. Once

Isabella had fallen into a deeper sleep, Franklin finally turned to Maggie and asked, “Will you stay?”

Maggie didn’t respond, but by remaining seated without moving, she had already conveyed her stance.

Franklin didn’t press further. He didn’t leave either but sat down on the sofa nearby.

Maggie stayed quietly by the bed, leaning against it, and before long, unknowingly drifted to sleep.

When she woke up again, the sky outside had already lightened.

At that moment, she realized she was lying on Isabella’s hospital bed.

Maggie was momentarily confused.

Hadn’t she-

She paused and looked over at the sofa.

Franklin was leaning with his hand propped against his face, asleep on the sofa.

Whether he had just woken up or noticed her gaze, he suddenly opened his eyes and met hers.

Maggie quickly averted her gaze, not asking whether it was he who had carried her to bed last night.

Franklin didn’t bring it up either.

He uncrossed his legs, stood up, and looked at her. “Are you going home to have breakfast, or will you eat

herep”

Maggie didn’t respond to his question. She had her own plans.

Seeing that she was still ignoring him, Franklin didn’t get angry, nor did he ask again.

After a while, Isabella woke up.

The doctor came in to do an examination, and the butler, along with Aunt Sara, entered with a food box.

Upon seeing Maggie, they both greeted her in unison, “Madam.”

Hearing this address, Maggie furrowed her brows but didn’t comment.

The butler and Aunt Sara placed the breakfast on the coffee table.

Franklin had instructed them to bring a portion for Maggie as well.

The butler said, “Madam, would you like to come over and have breakfast?”

Maggie shook her head and then turned to Isabella, who was eating breakfast. “Mom’s going to take a

quick shower and will come back later to see you.”

“Okay.” Isabella, still feeling dizzy, weakly said, “But, Mom, you have to come quickly…

“Sure.”

Maggie grabbed her bag and gave Isabella one last look before turning to leave.

She went home, took a shower, and had some breakfast before heading back to the hospital.

On her way to the hospital, she called Johnny to update him on Isabella’s situation, saying, “I’ll check on her and might return to the office later this afternoon.”

No matter what, Isabella was still her daughter. After such an incident, it was only right for Maggie to

care and look after her.

Johnny replied, “Okay.”

Franklin, noticing her arrival, was the first to speak. “You’re here?

It was normal for the butler and Aunt Sara to continue calling her “Madam” since they were used to it.

But him?

Why was he still joining in on this?

At that moment, Isabella woke up.

Maggie didn’t dwell on the issue.

The next morning, Isabella was feeling much better. The dizziness had almost subsided.

After the doctor’s examination confirmed that there were no serious issues, Franklin arranged for her to

be discharged that morning.

Although Isabella was fine, she still needed two or three more days to rest at home.

She grabbed Maggie’s hand and said, “Mom, are you going to work again? Can’t you stay home with me

for a while?”

Maggie replied, “Next time.”

Since there was nothing serious now, she had done what she needed to.

As for the Wilson family villa, she wasn’t going back there.

Isabella sighed, “Okay…”

Franklin, who had been standing nearby, spoke at this moment. “Isabella, say goodbye to your mom.

Isabella waved her hand at Maggie, “Goodbye, Mom.”

“Goodbye.”

Maggie said as she got into the car and quickly left the hospital.
