Chapter 482
Frieda was shocked by her sudden, imposing manner.
After a moment of shock, she reacted, her cheeks flushed with anger. “How dare you threaten met In Acridon. no one has ever dared to speak like this to a duchess! Take them down! I’ll take responsibility if anything happens!”
Athena didn’t expect Frieda to be immune to threats, so she had to slap the servant away with a palm.
She quickly retreated, putting distance between herself and them.
She said to the guards beside her, “Let’s go.”
The three turned around and left. Frieda chased after them relentlessly. “I must capture you and bring you to the manor! Let’s see where you can escape to!”
She was furious and had murder in her heart.
She gestured to the guards beside her, “Shoot them, but keep them alive.”
The guards nocked their arrows and aimed at Athena.
Soon, the two guards beside her were hit by arrows.
Athena swung her knife to defend herself, and a flash of inspiration came to her.
The Blumenfeld family wielded tremendous power in Aeridon. If anyone sought to uncover evidence of Curtis’s rebellion, their only option was to gain access to the Blumenfeld family.
Now was a good opportunity.
She threw the short knife on the ground and said to Frieda, “Why must you be so merciless? I will go back with you, but you must let go of my two followers.”
Frieda laughed and said, “If you had been so sensible earlier, wouldn’t that have been better? Why make me spend so much effort?”
She stepped forward and raised her eyebrows at Athena. She reached out and pinched Athena’s chin, looking her up and down.
Her face was full of satisfaction. “You’re so pretty, with such delicate skin. What’s your name?”
“I’m Elijah Monson,” Athena replied calmly.
Athena, dressed as a man, was as graceful with an extraordinary bearing.
It was a masculine charm that Frieda had never seen before.
Most of the men in Aeridon had rough skin, and very few were as smooth–skinned as Athena.

Chapter 489
If that weren’t the case, Frieda would have wanted to kill her earlier.
She nodded slightly. “Good name”
Then, she said to Athena’s two followers, “You two can get out of here.
The followers looked at Athena with embarrassment. Athena said to them, “Go back and tell my father that the Duchess has invited me to the manor as a guest. Tell him not to worry, I will take care of myself.”
The followers weren’t stupid and understood Athena’s implication.
If she wanted to escape, she would have sent a signal to them long ago. She was willingly being kidnapped by
Frieda.
The followers exchanged a look and stood up. They bowed to Athena, helped each other up, and left.
Frieda smiled with satisfaction when she saw the followers leave sensibly.
She patted the carriage behind her, “Get in the car. My palace is much more interesting than this street.
“Sorry for the trouble.” Athena bent down and got into the carriage, pretending to be obedient.
Seeing Athena so docile, Frieda giggled. “You really are amusing. Anyone else would be on their knees begging for mercy by now. But you’re not afraid at all. Not only are you not afraid, but you are also so polite. You are really a fool.”
Athena was silent and did not speak.
Frieda propped her chin, sizing her up with curiosity, “Elijah, are you from Pidence City?”
Athena replied, “Yes, I run a pharmacy in Pidence City to support my family.”
Frieda said, “Business is boring and hard. If you obey me, I can give you wealth and honor.”
Frieda took out a money bag and stuffed it into Athena’s hands, “Is this enough?”
Athena opened the bag in surprise and saw it was full of silver coins and a few strings of copper coins.
She took out a silver coin from it and said in surprise, “This much?”
“Look at you, so easily impressed. My father…” Frieda stopped herself halfway, realizing she had spoken too freely. “Anyway, if you follow me, you’ll never lack benefits.”
Athena chuckled, seemingly tamed by her. “Yes.”
She looked at the silver coin in her hand, secretly surprised.
She was surprised that Curtis was minting currency in secret. He was very bold.
Well, the King was far away from his turf. That was why Curtis dared to do such things.

Frieda couldn’t help laughing when she saw Athena staring blankly at the silver coin. “Silly, what are you thinking?”
Athena replied, “I was just thinking… I could never earn so much silver in my whole life.”
Frieda laughed. “You really are a fool. Please me, and not just a silver coin. I could even give you a whole residence.”
Athena smiled at Frieda: “Thank you for your kindness.”
Frieda raised her chin with a proud look. “If you had been so obedient earlier, wouldn’t it have been done?”
Before long, the carriage stopped. A magnificent mansion appeared before them.
When Athena got out of the carriage with Frieda, she paid special attention to the layout of the mansion.
The rockeries and flowing water surrounded the pavilions and towers, making it even better than the royal palace of Pidence City, revealing the style of a noble family everywhere.
Athena sighed in her heart, wondering how much people’s wealth was piled up to build this.
“Let’s go, what are you dazing about?” Frieda led Athena into the mansion.
Seeing Athena’s look of awe, she felt reassured.
Just then, a young man walked up to them and said, “Frieda.”
