Chapter 122

Blair flinched, pulling the sheet higher to cover herself. Her eyes filled with tears.

I searched my memory desperately. Flying here to the treatment center for the family open day party. Blair offering me some kind of fruit juice. I’d watched her pour it from a bottle, seen her take a sip herself. After that, everything went dark.

I grabbed her shoulders, shaking her hard. “Blair! Tell me what the fuck happened!”

She lowered her gaze, voice trembling. “Caelan, last night… last night we had sex. I know it’s sudden, but I…”

Her face crumpled into an expression of hurt, fingers clutching the sheet.

My head throbbed, thoughts jumbled and chaotic. I pressed my palm against my forehead, trying to clear the fog. When I attempted to stand, Blair suddenly lunged forward, wrapping her arms around my waist. Her bare breasts pressed against my skin.

I seized her wrist, squeezing until she went pale with pain. “Don’t touch me.” I didn’t even look at her as I stood and searched for my clothes.

Blair slid from the bed, completely naked, and padded across the floor. She pressed herself against my back, arms encircling my

waist.

“We’re one now,” she murmured against my skin. “Last night was my first time. I’m so happy I gave myself to you.”

“Stay the fuck away from me!” I snarled, baring teeth that had begun to sharpen. “Put your fucking clothes on!”

Blair walked to the closet and pulled out a set of clothes, tears streaming down her face as she began to dress. Her clothes from yesterday were in tatters, scattered across the floor.

“I’ll be your mistress,” she sobbed. “I don’t need anything. You can marry Sable, I’ll just be on the side. I only want to be near you…”

I stared at her, disgust rising in my throat. “Blair, your body may have been there last night, but mine wasn’t. Whatever you think happened between us is a lie.”

“Caelan,” she whimpered, “your body was so honest last night. Why deny it now? We belong to each other. Are you going to abandon

me?”

My hands shook with the effort of restraining my rage. “What did you put in my drink?”

“Nothing!” She lifted her skirt, revealing the inside of her thigh. Pointing at the bruises, she said, “Look at these. You left them on me when we were together. You said you’ve always loved me…”

I grabbed her throat, fingers tightening. “What. Did. You. Give. Me?”

Fear flickered across her face. She grasped my wrist, voice breaking. “If killing me would make you feel better, do it. I’d die for you.”

She closed her eyes, surrendering completely.

The rage consumed me. My partial shift continued; eyes burning gold, claws extending from my fingertips. I squeezed her throat harder, watching her face turn red as she struggled for air. Just as consciousness began to fade from her eyes, I flung her away. She crashed to the floor, gasping, my claws leaving shallow cuts across her neck that beaded with blood.

I ignored her theatrical sobbing and searched the room for my phone. I finally found it wedged deep in the sofa cushions, powered

off.

Chapter 122

I never turned my phone off, especially when away from home. Sable would worry.

Sable.

My stomach dropped as the screen lit up. Multiple missed calls from Sable. A string of increasingly worried text messages.

Where are you?

Are you okay?

Please call me when you get this.

Caelan, I’m really worried.

Are the photos online real?

Photos? What photos?

I opened the message from Edward. Screenshots from Blair’s social media-intimate photos of us together.

My blood ran cold. Sable had seen them.

I called her immediately, heart hammering. “Sabi, I’m sorry. My phone was turned off. Are you okay?”

Her voice was flat. “Where were you last night?”

“I’m sorry, baby. I didn’t tell you the truth because-”

“Just tell me who you were with last night,” she cut in.

I hesitated, weighing my words carefully. “I was with Blair-”

Before I could explain, Blair’s voice suddenly rang out behind me. “Caelan, I’m hurting. You were too rough…”

I heard Sable’s sharp intake of breath.

“I understand,” she said, her voice breaking. “We’re done.”

‘Sab-”

She hung up.

I stared at the phone, stunned. Slowly, I turned toward Blair, who still sat on the floor, watching me.

She crawled forward, wrapping herself around my legs. “Sable will never love you like I do. Forget her. I’ll be a good wife. I’ll do anything you want.”

I pressed my foot against her chest, pushing her away. “Blair, I gave you chances. This is your own doing. Not even Katherine can

save you now.”

I sent a text message, then sat on the sofa, waiting. Minutes later, the door burst open. Edward stormed in with three elite warriors

behind him.

They seized Blair immediately.

Chapter 122

“You can’t do this to me- she started.

I nodded to Edward, who instantly injected her with a sedative. Blair went limp in the warriors arms.

‘Your Majesty, we’ll take her to the private jet and wait for you,” Edward said.

I nodded curtly. “Watch her carefully. Don’t let her have any chance to escape.”

Edward’s eyes held grim understanding. “Understood.”

After they left, I walked to the corner of the room where the baseboard met the wall. My fingers found the hidden panel I’d discovered during my surveillance setup. The secret compartment clicked open, revealing Blair’s backup phone.

All this time, she was playing a double game.

I pocketed the device and retrieved the tiny recording equipment I’d installed.

Before leaving, I scanned the room one final time.

“Blair,” I said to the empty space, ‘your game is over.”

The private jet’s interior felt smaller with the weight of betrayal hanging in the air. Blair remained unconscious on one of the leather seats, restrained but monitored. I settled into my usual spot and pulled out her secret phone.

“Edward, take this immediately.” I handed him the device. ‘I want every message, every call record, every piece of data analyzed

within the hour.”

Edward accepted the phone with both hands. “I’ll contact our tech team right away.”
