Chapter 92
Caelan’s POV
Blair walked ahead of me through the moonlit forest.
I stopped walking. “Blair, you’ve already interrupted our engagement. If you have something to say, say it here.”
She turned back, her eyes were red-rimmed. “Please, Caelan. Your guards are everywhere. They’ll hear us.”
“I’m not leaving this area.”
Blair shook her head frantically. “Caelan, if you still consider me your sister, walk with me just a short distance. I promise-ten minutes, then we come back.”
The pleading in her voice reminded me of the frightened girl who’d arrived at Blackwood Manor years ago.
So I followed. Ten minutes deeper into the forest, she led me to the cliff’s edge where the trees opened up to reveal the dramatic drop to the lake below.
The water stretched out like dark mirror, reflecting stars and moonlight in rippling patterns. Under different circumstances, it might have been beautiful.
I’d reached the end of my patience. “Blair. What do you want? How did you escape from the treatment center?”
Her gaze flickered away. “That doesn’t matter now—”
Tell me. Who helped you get out, Blair?”
She moved closer, tears starting to flow. “I’m begging you, Caelan. Don’t go through with this engagement.”
“We’re not having this conversation.”
“Sable doesn’t love you! She spent three years loving another man. She came running back to you only after Darrell broke her heart. She’s using you as her safety net. Her consolation prize when her real love didn’t work out.”
“Even if that were true – which it isn’t – it’s none of your business.”
“How can you say that? Tears started streaming down her face. “I’ve loved you since we were children. I’ve waited for you, supported you through everything
“Stop, Suble is the woman I love. The woman I’m going to marry. She’s the most precious thing in my life, and I won’t let anyone not even you-disrespect
Blaws face went white. “You really believe she loves you?’
“I know she dues” Each wind carried absolute conviction. And more importantly, I love her with everything I have

I studied her face, looking for signs she was bluffing.
“Blair, you think threatening suicide will change how I feel? You think you can manipulate me into betraying the woman I love?”
Her eyes widened at my tone.
92%
“You’re not a child anymore. I’m not responsible for your emotional decisions. I turned toward the path. “Do whatever you think you need to do. I’m going back to my wife.”
“You think I’m joking?’ she shrieked behind me.
I didn’t turn around. ‘I think you’re desperate enough to say anything.”
The sound reached me before I could fully process what was happening. The rushing of fabric through air. A splash far below.
Then silence.
“Blair!” I spun around and rushed to the cliff edge.
The lake’s surface showed ripples where something had broken through. Moonlight caught the disturbance in the water, spreading outward in concentric circles.
Without hesitation, I opened the mind-link. “Edward! Emergency at the cliff base-Blair jumped. Get search teams to the lake immediately!”
Edward’s response came instantly. “On our way, Your Majesty!”
“Bring medical personnel and rope rescue equipment. Full emergency response!”
Sable’s POV
Scarlett and I sat together on the velvet chairs that had been arranged for the family during the ceremony. The ivory silk of my engagement dress felt heavy against my legs as I shifted nervously.
“Blair looked completely unhinged, Scarlett whispered, her eyes still wide with disbelief. “Did you see her face when she was kneeling? I’ve never seen anything so-
Peter and Leon ran toward us, their faces grim.
“Blair jumped off the cliff, Peter announced breathlessly. “We have to go support the rescue efforts.”
“She what?
‘Blair jumped, Leon repeated. ‘Caelan’s organizing search teams at the lake.”
I stared at them, struggling to process what I’d just heard. Blair had actually gone through with her threat.
She really would rather die than see us together.
Marcus and Katherine immediately shot to their feet. Katherine’s face had gone chalk white, her hands trembling as she reached for Marcus s arm.
“We have to go to her, Katherine said urgently she could be drowning, she could be
“The rescue teams are already in the water, Peter assured her. But Caelon requested all available help.
Marcus nodded grimly. “Let’s go.”
They hurried toward the forest path, following Peter and Leon into the darkness. I watched them disappear between the trees, my heart pounding with a

mixture of shock and guilt.
Did our engagement really drive her to this?
But before I could dwell on those thoughts, Victoria’s panicked voice cut through the night air.
Victoria rushed over to Dad, panic written all over her face. “Rogrigo! I can’t find Daisy anywhere!”
I immediately stood up. “What do you mean you can’t find her?”
“I’ve searched the entire ceremony area.” Victoria’s voice shook. “She’s not near the refreshment tables, not anywhere I can see.”
Dad asked. “How long has she been gone?”
“I don’t know! I was talking to Mrs. Henderson about the flower arrangements, and when I turned around, Daisy had vanished.”

Dad immediately took charge. “We need to search systematically. Scarlett, check the refreshment area and behind the stage. Victoria, search near the lake shore.”
I’ll ask the guests if anyone saw her,” I said, already moving toward the nearest group of people.
