Sylas stood high in the skies, on top of the Hollow Wing, his arms crossed and his expression unmoved. The wind whipped against his body, but hidden in the clouds, it wasn’t even obvious that he was there.
This wouldn’t last for long, but he also didn’t need it to. Since the Demons wanted to rely on their numbers, he would show them how to truly do it.
The true population of the Noble Demons was much larger than this, but because they were on their way to the Golden Battlefield, they had only taken those of a certain combat prowess level to this location.
The numbers that Sylas had right now, though the quality wasn’t a match, were easily an order of magnitude more. There were more than ten Serpentes to a single Noble Demon, and as much time as the Demons had to prepare for the charge they could see coming from miles away...
It made little difference.
The destruction began immediately. Serpentes were shredded to pieces one after another, but soon the first Demons began to fall.
*’Seems I have to go.’* Sylas thought.
He hadn’t released the Demonic Emperors yet, but he didn’t need to. Not just yet.
"Protect your own lives," Sylas said coldly before diving down.
He blazed a trail of green from the skies to the battlefield below, murder in his eyes.
Alex cleared his throat. "Well, it sounds like we might be screwed."
Jala frowned. "Why?"
"Because he never warns us before doing anything. So you do the math."
Jala’s heart skipped a beat. But by then, the Hollow Wing had already opened its maw, a roar echoing through the skies.
A laser of black surrounded by spiraling silver took shape, beaming down from the skies like the concentrated breath of a dragon.
It ripped up everything in its path, and suddenly the Demons from below got a new target... but not before Sylas landed.
**BOOM!**
The eyes of several Noble Demons opened wide.
Sylas wasn’t dead!
The thought could barely form before Sylas had ripped out the throat of a Noble Demon, their Blazara blood sparking flames on his claws, but only for a moment before Sylas snuffed it out with a clench of his fists.
The Scorned Wraps appeared, surging into being in whipping lines of bloody white.
The little girl had told him that he shouldn’t use the Scorned Wraps like this, but he cared not. If it was useful, then it would be a part of his repertoire. Plus, under this quasi system, the world itself couldn’t restrain the Scorned Wraps like the outside world could.
In which case...
He would teach the Blazara what true flames were.
A Blazara found their ankle wrapped. Sylas wasn’t even facing them, his shin kicking up so high he crushed the skull of a Ghorath, its hulking body crumpling to nothing beneath the single strike.
The swing of Sylas’ leg pulled the length of Scorned Wrap taut, sending the Blazara flying toward him.
Without even looking back, Sylas elbowed.
**BANG!**
His claw squeezed down, \[Chaotic Menace] and his Unravelling Pupils working in unison.
**BANG!**
The treasure shattered to pieces, and losing its support, Herrer’s fist continued, falling even faster than the hammer’s had.
What happened next was so fast and harrowing the Demons that would survive for only the next few moments had it ingrained into their very irises.
Sylas sidestepped, pushing the other hammer to the side and allowing the fist over his shoulder. He spun quickly, facing his back to Herrer and slamming his hip against the Noble Demon’s.
Herrer felt the world spin around him for a moment, his body becoming as light as a feather and then as light as nothing at all as his body combusted to ash, flames dancing in the air that made the Blazara shake to their very boots.
At that moment, something unexpected happened. Whether it was Ebison’s father or even his unruly sister, all Blazara fell to their knees, slamming their heads against the ground.
It was such a resounding sound, so forceful, so powerful that one after another, they actually began to die.
Sylas paused for a moment, looking at this scene that was completely unexpected.
He didn’t say a word, and they continued to kill themselves. One slam after another.
The savagery of shattering one’s own skull in the most brutal ways possible was on full display.
It all happened so fast that even the Sanguara that remained and the Ghorath were entirely unable to react.
Seconds later, all of the Blazara were dead.
