Debra took a detour and headed to the Nichols Group.

Seemingly in a good mood, she hummed a tune in the car. Her easy air drew a glance from Ivan.

He had reason to believe she was either careless or reckless. Even though Marion was sort of a legend, he couldn't just fend off those skilled fighters of their boss.

It was a dead end, and yet Debra didn't look worried at all.

In the passenger seat, Randy spoke up, "Don't worry, Ivan. Your family is now under Drake's protection. Even if you're exposed, nothing will happen to your family."

Ivan didn't reply. He wasn't worried about his family at all. What worried him was the failure of this mission.

If Debra succeeded in taking over the Nichols Group, they would be facing a serious problem.

At the entrance to the Nichols Group Headquarters, Theda glanced at her watch.

Joe reminded her, "Ms. Buchan, the meeting starts in ten minutes. Please head upstairs to prepare."

"I'll just wait here," Theda replied.

Joe tried again, "Mrs. Nichols Sr. has already gone upstairs. It might be inappropriate for you to stay here."

Theda raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were Juan's secretary. Are you working for her now?"

"I'm serving the Nichols family as a whole," Joe replied.

"She hasn't even taken office yet, and she's acting like this?" Melody huffed. "Go tell her that if she doesn't want the position, there are plenty of people who do."

"Understood." Joe turned to relay the message.

He opened the door, only to see Theda standing outside.

Theda gave a faint smile. "Mrs. Nichols Sr., today's a good day. Who are we angry with?"

Melody snorted, "Everyone's waiting for you. Today is your inauguration ceremony. If you don't care about it, feel free to cancel it."

"Of course not. I'll live up to everyone's expectations. I'll do my best and make more money for everyone," Theda responded.
