Debra shrugged. "The Illuminati is plaguing the world. I got a little bit of a saint complex and wanted to wipe them out. Does that make it easier for you to accept?"

Drake scoffed, "Saint complex? You and that word don't go together."

Debra laughed, "What's that supposed to mean?"

He paused, looking up at her. "Is it because of me?"

Debra fell silent, and he continued, "You and Marion didn't need to save me. I went willingly."

"To die? If we hadn't come, you'd be dead. Do you really think your life means nothing?"

Drake shrugged. "I've done plenty of bad things in my life. Death serves me right. You didn't have to get involved."

"Should we just sit by and watch you die? The Illuminati has already targeted the stuff you're hiding. They won't let go. Leaving this place only gets you in trouble," Debra retorted. "Marion sees you as a brother. He'll never just let it slide, and neither will I. They grabbed you, and you went along without a fight? Since when did you get so easy to control? They threatened you, and you should've beaten the crap out of them. But here you are, all wretched. That's not the king of Orkgate I know."

"If they had simply challenged me, I would have fought back. But..." Drake paused, looking away, "they used Marion's and your lives to threaten me."

"So, you just left behind a clue and went to your death? Debra countered. "Would that make you a hero? Your life or death aside, Marion and I will take them down."

While he was lost in thought, Debra approached him and placed a piece of candy in his mouth. The sweetness spread across his tongue, making him freeze.

"You can have candy when you're alive," she said. "If you're dead, there's nothing. Got it?"

Drake glanced at the rainbow-colored candy wrapper in her hand. "I'm not a kid anymore. I don't eat candy."

Debra raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? But Marion said you loved candy."
