Liza looked down, fidgeting as she grabbed Debra's hands.
"We're still friends, right?"
"Yeah."
"Fermin had his reasons for how he treated you guys. I..."
"I understand. We're good. Swing by when you're free."
"Cool."
Outside the Potter Mansion, Fermin's crew rolled up to get her.
After Liza left, Theda sighed. "Great. We're already slammed, and now with her gone, we're screwed."
"Yup, even busier," Debra said, shaking her head.
The company mess alone gave her headaches.
"Wait a second," Theda said. "We're all swamped, but where's Jordan? He's usually first in line to help."
"Andrew gave him some job," Debra said. "Probably busier than us these days."
Randy whined from his room, "One shoulder wound, and you've got me cooped up for three days? Work is sounding good right now. At least, I can get out."
"Same," Erica echoed, stuck for a checkup despite minor injuries.
Debra glanced at the restless pair. One was a powerful businesswoman, and the other was her man.
They had been resting there for just three days, but they were ready to tear the place down every morning.
"If you're that antsy, help with company stuff," Debra said, dialing her assistant. "Ben, send me, I mean, Erica and Randy the latest reports. Let them see what Marion and I deal with daily. They'll realize how cushy they've got it."
