Debra had nearly died trying to swipe it from him, but in the end, he had just handed it over.

"It's evidence of big-shot crimes," she said. "But I don't want it to be public. This is just a copy."

"I don't quite get it." Pedro stared, puzzled.

"This flash drive has got dirt on too many heavy hitters. You don't wanna make enemies. Just use it to take down their shady businesses. We'll fry the big fish ourselves."

"Sounds like a plan. I'm in."

"Thank you."

After all she'd been through, Debra got how the world worked. Not every bad guy got what was coming. Too much unfairness was out there.

When the law couldn't touch certain people, they'd take it into their own hands. They would do it quietly without upsetting the public.

Every circle had its unwritten rules. Business was no different.

Starting today, she'd set those rules. Anyone stepping out of line and screwing society would be taken down.

Pedro left, and Debra felt lighter.

With the mastermind down, they just had to tough out the cleanup. Peace was in sight.

"You know? Why aren't you stopping her? What if it blows up? Chace and Oscar only answer to her, not you."

"Thanks for the heads-up. But if she's dead set on knowing, no one's stopping her. She's got her plans, and I've got my story. No sweat."

Theda frowned at his calm tone, her gaze fixed on the on-hook phone.

She saw bits of herself in Debra, but to Andrew, they seemed like night and day.
