Stanley yanked Lillian up, pressing a knife to her neck. "Your mother owes me, and you're paying it."
The police flooded the complex, clearing it out. An officer blared a megaphone. "Stanley Frazier, you're surrounded. Release the hostage in three minutes, or you're done."
Stanley dragged Lillian downstairs.
Solomon's chest tightened when he saw the knife at her throat. He jumped from the car, sprinting toward her. "Lillian!"
"Stay back!" Stanley snarled. "One step closer, and she's dead."
"We're family," Lillian said. "Put the knife down. I'll tell them to let you go."
"You think I'm stupid? I'll be dead if I let you go," Stanley snapped, glaring at Juan and Solomon. "$500 million, plus plane tickets and visa."
Juan didn't even blink, and Stanley kept going. "I know your company's books. $500 million is pocket change for you. Swap it for Debra's kid. Fair deal."
Juan raised a hand. "Pull back."
"What?" an officer stammered.
Snipers had been set all around them, ready to take out Stanley at any second. No need to negotiate with him.
He swung the knife at her throat, but a voice stopped him. "Dad, don't hurt her! She is my friend."
Farrah shoved herself between them, shielding Lillian.
"Get lost!" Stanley pushed her aside.
Lillian scowled, flipping him over her shoulder and landing him flat on his back.
Farrah was stunned.
