Chasing His Wolfless Luna Back (Rayna Quinn) novel Chapter 74

Kidnap2

I sighed. “No. He doesn’t want to talk to me, and I won’t force him… besides, I was the one who asked him to keep his distance. I guess he’s finally respecting my wishes for

once.”

“I doubt that,” she mused thoughtfully.

“Do you know something?”

“Not for sure, but I suspect something happened.”

1 looked at her skeptically. The only thing that could have happened was Aurora demanding he stay away from me. But I doubted that. Sebastian wasn’t the type to follow orders, especially when they involved Leo.

I shook my head to clear my thoughts. “Whatever. None of that matters today. We’re here

to have fun and relax.”

“You’re right,” she said cheerfully, checking her phone. “Shit, I need to go to the

bathroom. Be right back.”

She didn’t even give me a chance to respond before hurrying away.

I waited, but she didn’t return. I waited another five minutes, and she still hadn’t come back. I started to worry and got up to check on her.

When I couldn’t find her in the bathroom, I began to panic. I rushed back to the VIP area.

“Did you see the woman who was with me a few minutes ago?” I asked the bartender.

He smiled and answered, “Yes, I saw her leave through the back door.”

“Thanks,” I murmured as I left. I was confused why she would leave without telling me, especially since her phone and purse were still inside.

I went outside and started looking around. No sign of her. Just as I pulled out my phone

to call Roman, someone hit me from behind. I lost consciousness.

When I woke up, my vision was a bit blurry, and my head was throbbing painfully. It took

me a moment to realize I’d been kidnapped.

My hands were tied, and I was hanging from the ceiling. I shook the chains, struggling to

escape.

“Don’t waste your energy… you won’t leave this place alive,” a raspy voice came from my

left.

I looked around and finally saw him. I seemed to be in an abandoned warehouse, empty

Can’t do that… I’ve been paid a lot of money to kill you.”

If it’s money you want, I can give you everything you want. I’m wealthy,” I tried to reason

“Wish it was just about the money, but I’ve accepted the job, and I always complete my jobs,” he said with a smile, as if this was something to be proud of.

If it were any other job, it might be worth being proud of, but not when you’re a cold-

blooded killer.

“Please, I’ll do anything. I can give you anything.”

He stood up and walked toward me. He slid his knife down my face.

“You’re beautiful, and I’d love to have you, but you’re not worth risking my reputation for,” he whispered in my ear, sending chills down my spine.

Just then, the warehouse door slowly opened. We both turned, and for a moment, I was relieved, thinking I was saved.

But his next words shattered my illusion.

“I promised you I’d get the job done.” The assassin bowed to the figure at the door, “I caught her, just as you requested.”

As the figure stepped into the light, everything inside me froze. I couldn’t believe my eyes, couldn’t believe such betrayal.

“You…” my voice trembled with shock, “how could it be you?”

I never imagined that the person I trusted most would be the one who wanted me dead.
