“Hello, who is this?” Devan answered.

“Are the kids home?” Carter asked.

“Yes, Mrs. Jamison came back earlier and brought the kids to lunch. But she just left.”

After hanging up, Carter went to the nurse’s station, borrowed a phone, and dialed Rhea’s number.

It took six tries before she finally answered.

“Hello?”

It was actually a man’s voice!

Carter double–checked the number. Indeed, he had dialed Rhea’s number.

Carter’s tone deepened as he asked, “Who is this?”

Rhea shook her head and firmly said, “I never will.”

She would never be foolish enough to believe that Carter loved her. After finally waking up to reality, she refused to bring herself more pain.

George’s eyes lifted at the corner. “Should we head back to Draventh later?”

“Yeah.” Rhea wanted to return home. Having her family by her side was true happiness.

At 1:30 am, Rhea arrived home. “Go home and get some rest. It’s late.”

Rhea turned around and stepped through the door.
