Chapter 326
Rhea’s words could be interpreted in two ways.
One, that George’s cigarettes weren’t too harsh, so she could stand the smell. Two, that she could accept him smoking.
George wasn’t so vain as to overthink it.
But Rhea seemed to catch the meaning behind his brief silence. She gave a knowing smile and said, ” I don’t dislike you, so I think I can accept whatever you do in front of me.”
George was exceptional in every sense. He surpassed her in looks, presence, style, manners, and capability. What reason did she have to dislike him?
After saying that, Rhea went back to eating, but George sat frozen.
She had no idea of the ripple her casual words caused in him. It felt like a glimpse of something he had waited years for.
There was no way he could stay calm about this.
After lunch, Rhea was full from the meal and washed it down with a cup of warm water.
It was 2:00 pm.
She could rest for a bit before heading out.
“Where is the press conference?” she asked. She wanted to hear Lauren apologize with her own ears.
“About half an hour from here,” George replied.
Rhea pouted. “Then I should leave now.
She stood and looked at herself in the mirror. “I didn’t change clothes. Do I look sloppy?”
George studied her reflection. “You look beautiful no matter what.”
Her eyes glimmered, and she smiled. “You sure know how to flatter a woman, Mr. Snider.”
He casually replied, “Who would fall for someone plain and ugly?”
At the doorway, Rhea suddenly paused.
George stopped as well. He watched as she turned back and lifted her gaze to him.
“Aren’t you going to hug me?” she asked softly.
Hug her?

George frowned. He thought that she would pretend that nothing from last night had ever happened once they walked out that door.
Without a second thought, he pulled her into his arms. “Rhea.”
“Yes?”
“Don’t play with my feelings, okay?” His voice carried the faintest tremor.
Anyone else could play games with him, but not her. He might take every word she said to heart and carry it out earnestly.
Rhea’s lashes fluttered as she slid her arms around his waist. “I like the way you smell.”
After saying that, she let go and turned to open the door. But the moment she stepped out, she froze.
In the hallway, a long bench sat beside a long table. And on that bench were her parents and Nathan.
The table in front of them still had lunch spread across it. They were mid–meal.
When George came out from behind Rhea, his expression mirrored hers. He wondered what they were all doing there.
Frankie stood against the wall, looking helpless. Nathan had practically wrung his neck to make sure he didn’t inform George.
Rhea snapped out of it first. “Mom, Dad, Nathan, you’re eating here?”
“We had some time and wanted to see why you didn’t come home.” Nathan’s gaze flicked toward
George.
Just one night, and George managed to bring Rhea to a hotel? And of all the places, to his hotel?
When Ruby and Liam heard, they dragged Nathan here to wait outside the door. Apparently, they needed to see it with their own eyes.
“Rhea.” Ruby looked at her.
