Chapter 347
At the Snider residence, the mood was tense.

Steven and Bryan both looked grim. Cynthia remained silent, while George, who was sitting at the head of the table, fixed his gaze on her. He questioned, “Mom, what exactly are you trying to do?”
Cynthia took a sharp breath. “I didn’t expect this to get out. Kate probably didn’t mean it. Maybe she just mentioned it casually, and someone with an agenda turned it into a news story.”
Steven snapped, “If you hadn’t said anything, they wouldn’t have had the chance! Marcus did this to drive a wedge between us and the Ravelles. And you just handed him the opportunity! Do you realize how much this has affected Snider Group?
“You keep saying that you’re worried the Ravelle family will affect us, but I think you’re the one causing the problem! How will outsiders view our family? They’ll think that we look down on Rhea and are very narrow–minded!”
Cynthia felt really hurt after Steven reprimanded her. “George is my only son. I just want what’s best for him. What’s wrong with that? It’s a fact that Rhea is divorced and impulsive. She got together with George right after her divorce. Isn’t it obvious that she’s using him?”
George narrowed his eyes. “Who told you that she’s using me?”
Cynthia wasn’t a prejudiced person. So, George knew that she wouldn’t have thoughts like that.
Steven, as sharp as ever, guessed, “Was it Kate?”
Cynthia pressed her lips together. “She… No, she’s just worried that outsiders would think that Rhea is using George. But the more I think about it, the more it doesn’t sit right with me. She moved on with George so fast. What does that say about her character?”
“I was the one who pursued her, Mom,” George said calmly.
Everyone froze.
Cynthia stared in disbelief. “What?”
“I confessed to her before she even divorced. If anyone’s at fault, it’s me. If anyone’s shameless or reckless, it’s me,” George admitted openly.
Cynthia jumped up. “I won’t let you say that about yourself! George, we raised you to follow the right path, not let romance jeopardize your life or the family!”
Suddenly, Bryan spoke up. “I think you’re the unreasonable one here!”
No one expected him to lash out.

He looked at George. “George, 1 support you. If you like her, go for it. Put in the effort. Life’s short. There’s no next time, so don’t leave any regrets. I think that Rhea’s a good person. She loves and hates boldly, makes mistakes, and owns them. That’s courage.”
The Ravelle children were bound to be well–raised and decent. And since George liked her, he didn’t see that there was anything wrong with them being together.
Frowning, Cynthia looked at the three Snider men and asked, puzzled, “What’s so bad about Kate?”
Steven suddenly asked, “Do you think Britney was bad?”
Cynthia froze at his question. Britney Holloway had been Steven’s mother’s choice for him back in the day. But Steven had chosen Cynthia decisively.
